There are ways a goalie can increase their odds on the 8m, which she works on regularly with her goalie coach, which accounts for a good bit of the success. Its early season, so limited sample size. Her school is not at the highest level of competition and she is very strong against girls who take one step and wail it. If I had to guess, between club and school since freshman year, she's somewhere around 55 to 60% against the 8m.
She isn’t facing Reese, Rassas, Fossati, or other elite shooters who hit any corner with velocity. And if a girl is remotely skilled, she will charge in and find the opening. Sorry to pour cold water on your daughter but the best of the best goalies don’t come close to 50% on 8 meters.
The girl who scored from St Mary’s is top notch and 6’ tall. I’d imagine she scores on 80% of 8 meters against the best goalies in the country. And they all are coached by the best goalie coaches in the country.

Terrible that games can be decided by an 8 meter in sudden death OT.
That horrible goalie play bailed her out in the moment.
By what time? You can’t expect goalies to save 8 meters.
BTW SR got home cooking, that tying goal was clearly after buzzer with no time left.
Sure you can. My goalie loves facing 8m.
lol, your goalie saving 50% or better? That’s my point

1. SSSAS. They start a quality college commit at every position and sub with more commits. If they don't get it done this year, it will not be talent based, but some other issues with the program.
2. Stone Ridge. SR gets the nod for number two because the supporting cast around their top player is a bit more established than Visi's. Could see these teams trading off late season, however.
3. Visi. They will be better than people think. Star power, talented young players.
4. Potomac. Held their own in the initial games, despite missing their senior Duke commit (allegedly). Not going away, just not as strong as Visi on paper so far.

Except when your team is on the winning end of it…
