DAVE GROHL’s ex-girlfriend, L7’s JENNIFER FINCH, says she stands behind the FOO FIGHTERS frontman amid controversy.
According to TMZ, Finch is staying firmly in Grohl’s corner after he announced on Tuesday that he fathered a daughter outside of his marriage. While fans around the world were shocked by the news, Finch has stepped up to defend him, calling him a top-tier dad and friend.
Finch went on to say that Grohl is, in the words of TMZ, “doing everything he can for his family, giving it his all in spite of the messy situation.”
Despite the fact that Finch is Grohl’s ex - with the two having dated in the ‘90s while Grohl was still with Nirvana - the two have remained close friends. Just this year, Finch’s band L7 even toured with the Foo Fighters, giving Finch a first hand look at Grohl’s family dynamic.
With all due respect, who cares what Finch has to say on this front? So she thinks he’s a great guy despite his track record of cheating on his committed partners and serial womanizing. So she has set a low bar for him and thinks that apologizing for fathering a baby outside of marriage is “doing everything he can”. Clearly Dave Grohl’s PR team is quite desperate to get someone to say nice things about him.
I mean, I wouldn’t necessarily assume she was put up to it.
You act like his cheating is unusual. You realize it’s the norm in entertainment, right?
Who cares if cheating is “the norm”??? Why do so many posters respond with this? It’s a despicable thing to do. Period.
You know what is also pretty “normal” in that it happens frequently and to nearly 1/3 of women - rape. Is that ok? 1/4 women will face physical violence apart from rape. It’s pervasive so that’s ok? Just because something happens a lot doesn’t make it ok.
Cheating and infidelity is morally reprehensible, even if it’s common. You’re betraying someone’s trust and usually doing so through emotional abuse which includes repeated lying and deception, gaslighting, and manipulation to get away with it. Not to mention that when you sleep around with people unprotected, you risk STDs and giving those to your spouse.
Stop saying “oh it’s the norm”. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t excuse Dave Grohl and make this situation any less gross. Feel sad for his wife and three daughters. What a tragedy for them.
I’m not attempting to excuse it. I’m just trying to understand whether you have this same reaction to all the other rock stars who have done the same thing.
Not to every 'rocker' like Mick Jagger but, ones who make a big show of what a wonderful husband and father they are!
So you’re more ok with the ones who are just open about being jerks in all areas of their lives?
Want me to over analyze your life?
Either you condemn them all or you decide you don’t care about any of it. But you’re getting way too precious right now.
I never said it was 'ok' but, we are talking about what is 'expected' Jagger has always been a cheater and never said otherwise. Apparently, Grohl was too but, liked to pretend him was a 'good guy' Both are scum in my opinion.
Also, I am a complete unknown. Why would anyone want to discuss my life? It is pretty basic. Married for 30+years ( happily) never cheated. I drive the speed limit and break for animals and people. I want all wars to end and there to be world peace. I wish people would treat each other nicely in person and online...hint hint
Happy? In the end I am not keeping up awake about either 'gentlemen' This is just a discussion board and we are allowed to discuss things that do not directly involve our lives.
I think you are pretty low to bring my personal life into the discussion.
I was with you until you said you drive the speed limit. Either you are normal and go over the speed limit some of the time and are not being honest
OR
You are one of those abide by all rules types and slow down everyone else.

He's cheated before, time and again, as well with her friends.
Oh yeah? Well, I know the family too and he’s hit on me a million times.
(of course, that’s fully BS, but see how easy it is to post crap online?)
Why do you think the pp is BS? Lots of people post here from both VA and CA… where this family lives/has homes.
I’m one degree of separation from them through multiple people for different reasons.

This was many years ago probably 1999/2000. I wonder if Taylor was as much of a dog as grohl or maybe his vice was just the drugs. He always seemed like the sweeter/kinder one.
Again with the naivety!
All these guys slept around. Taylor talked about it.
Doesn’t mean they aren’t also nice people who can do good things as well.
Isn’t this what you’d expect from a rock star? Since when did celebrities (especially rock stars) become a moral compass. This is exactly the trope of a rock star. I’d be more surprised if he was faithful.
I'm wondering why people are getting so wound up about this. Many rock stars are having affairs. Now there is a baby, who I hope has a good life. So many actors do the same thing - without the baby part.
Yep. People act like:
- this is unusual
- Dave is unusually horrible
He’s not. He’s typical. He at least acknowledged the baby. Many famous men have illegitimate children they do not acknowledge.
It's because Dave is charming and played up the "nicest guy in rock" image. Fans and the public are so easily swayed by it. It's not like these rumors are well hidden either. People chose to ignore it.
He can be a creep in his marriage and also do nice things at times. People are so simplistic sometimes.
As terrible as this, it's not the worst thing a celebrity can do too
I mean, that’s what’s kind of crazy to me. The virulent hatred against him for this is so much more than, say, against Neil Gaiman or Josh Homme, both of whom have had assault allegations against them. People kind of laugh at Nick Cannon, who has had like 30 kids or something crazy like that.
As far as we know, this was consensual sexual conduct between two adults. Unless proven otherwise, this goes into the immoral but legal category and is therefore pretty run of the mill stuff for men in general, and especially famous men.
Is it because he seemed like a family man? He never claimed monogamy. I think people were deluding themselves about him and now are angry the bubble has been burst.
Bingo!! I do blame him/his team for creating that Disney faux image but people need to learn not to idolize celebs so extremely. Him being charming and funny doesn't erase his crapy aspects.
