The Dems have a reasonable bench for 2028, but in 2024, it has to be Biden unless Trump is in jail or dead.

He is not wrong. He is the one candidate who can unite the party at this time. Well, Obama could also do that, but Dems are not into coups and stuff.

Exactly. If there were any brains running the show within the GOP leadership and their voting base, they'd see that they have a golden opportunity for an easy victory over a historically weak opposition candidate but they are dumb enough to support the one guy Biden can beat. You can't fix stupid. No need in trying.
We saw this with Nikki Haley. She had the lead over Biden in some match-ups.
