In a month she has lost the FBI and the Caps/Wizards.

How much does the city have to lose before we all admit that the city is collapsing?

This is kind of a nightmare. Follow the money people. The money is LEAVING the city.

She still has the Mystics.

The FBI leaving is a good thing so DC can develop that entire block into a mixed use building with housing. The problem is DC will require 30% of the housing to be for low income people. That’s not going to revitalize downtown. People with money is always the demographic to lure anywhere to revitalize an area.

CapOne can be converted to affordable housing as well.

According to the WP, Leonsis owns it.

See, the same crowd that got us here wants this to be a windfall for more of the same. Bowser seems to have had that wake up call, certainly was not universal.

He'll bail from it. Why would he keep it. Yay! More affordable housing!

When more and more of the city does not work at legal jobs and never will, who will pay the bills? The current policies are drawing addicts and vagrants from across the country. As more tax payers leave, what happens then?

It's clear that when fed and CRE leases expire they will shrink their footprints. The solution is not to become the homeless luxury housing destination for the US. No money = no enhanced social benefits nor new bike lanes. It's like a war between reality and DSA kool aid drinkers.

Seriously, why should DC offer more and richer (for landlords) housing vouchers than any locality in the mid-Atlantic? Maybe among most cities? Other cities try to attract more private investment. Is it the goal of activists and their political partners in DC that the District become the destination of choice for those seeking to live on taxpayer assistance?

Yes. I don't understand how shrinking the tax base is good.

What about the restaurants in That area. And the condos that have been built. With no magnet to pull people there. I guess Chinatown is a goner.

This is just depressing.

Does the Mayor really want the government out and billionaire teams out? What is she replacing that lost money with?

She still has the Mystics.

I doubt you or the Twidiot have ever been to an outdoor concert. The airport is likely to call and ask them to turn it down so they can hear themselves in the control tower.

They re-route traffic at LGA for the US Open, which is farther than this is to DCA.

Because the grunting of the players is too loud?

Planes taking off are very loud. 140+ decibels loud.

You think that is going to attract artists?

I suppose I will ask. Do the people in the current shopping plaza have trouble talking to each other with all the plane noise?

Does anyone actually hang out outside there?

There is a kids park directly below the metro, so yes.

Aren't the kids deaf from the 140+ dB plane noise? Seems irresponsible.

Are they going to name it SuperFUNd stadium?

This former superfund site didn't make the cut years ago for the Redskins stadium.

These things are always bad for the tax payers. If Virginia and Alexandria want to use tax dollars(and loser tax revenue because of zoning use) have at it.

He's not local. He's from Georgia.

Sometimes it’s hard to believe how stupid some of you are. He’s a local treasure. That has nothing to do with where he was born.

Learn what local means, moron.

I run the trail behind there and don't notice the planes
