I have mixed feelings about conversations like these in the aftermath of his death. He was an addict. Of course as part of that he hurt people who cared about it and/or worked with him. I have a friend who struggled with sobriety and who recently died as a result of his addiction issues. Our friendship was complicated, but his addiction was not who he was.
My brother died as a result of his addiction. His addiction was who he was. We never got to see the real him, or who he might have become without all the lies and manipulations bound up with his addiction.
Daughter of an alcoholic. My parent and alcoholism were intertwined, despite interventions and sporadic periods of sobriety. My parent’s addiction = personality, moods, behavior, lifestyle.

Then fast forward to the person who submitted the blind saying it was being scrapped because the person unexpectedly died.. but that one of the writers was going forward and being paid by Daily Mail for the story. They revealed it was Matthew Perry, yikes.

we are spending way too much time thinking of Matthew Perry, a deeply mentally unwell person. Where is Sandra Day O' Connor page?

"Without that thing he did that made him famous he wouldn't be famous" is a ridiculous thing to say. He was a big part of peoples' experiences for 10 years. People are allowed to be sad that he is gone. What were you trying to accomplish with this? That people who care would suddenly agree with you? Just stay out of the thread if you don't care about the subject; it isn't that difficult.
Geez internet stranger you are so right. He lived this prolific career on one single sitcom that he barely remembers being in and we should all morn that.![]()
Unkind person, the word you were trying to use is "mourn."
I’ll be sure to complain to my autocorrect based on your self righteousness.

Is that true though? Wouldn’t they have said that the ultimate cause was drowning if so?
Not that they wouldn’t mention the drugs in that case, just that drowning wasn’t mentioned. I assumed he was dead before he went under water.
It said drowning was a contributory factor.
