How on earth would 2 cuties fill you up before a meal several hours later??
Did any of you watch the unaired footage of the cuties conversation? Clearly Cole was just joking around with her. He offered her a freaking Poke bowl earlier that same day when Z said all she ate was a banana and a tsp of PB. She has serious issues in not just disordered eating but also personality.
She's super insecure and he's immature. They're just a bad combination. I don't think he was out of line in the orange conversation, but maybe a more maturity or sensitivity from him would have made a difference. I don't know if you can expect a 25 year old guy to fully pick up on disordered eating, when women are allllways talking about weight and looks, especially in that setting.
It seems like he did realize his earlier mistake at the pool party and did pick up in her general insecurity, as he seemed to have stepped it up later with frequent reassurances telling her she was beautiful. But the damage was done and she couldn't get past it.
She was too old for him.
And too insecure and bitter, and also hell bent on creating her own narrative - which she accomplished by convincing all of us that Cole was a monster. In truth he's just an immature 25 year old who was actually better suited for Colleen, and vice versa. He has a lot of growing up to do, but I don't see any character flaws. There's a reason why Z is still single.
He crossed some lines in a way i think is a step beyond just immaturity (telling her he thought Colleen was more attractive, asking if she was bipolar). I dont think hes a terrible person, but he has poor judgment and she can do better. She needs a grown up. He is not there yet.
I think they're both insecure in different ways and not able to be what the other needs. I do agree that Colleen would have been a better match for Cole, he wants a woman who won't criticize him and will aim to please and praise him, and she clearly put up with so much from Matt that I think she would have done it for him if he'd proposed. Also Matt is a bomb waiting to go off.

Although Colleen is only a good match for him because her self-esteem prevents her for asking for even the bare minimum as shown by the fact that she was willing to marry Matt who is red flags personified.
