For obvious reasons, sensitivity to gun violence has increased in the past few years.

STA has learned that it is best to take swift harsh action. Years ago when the Vice Preident's son was caught smoking marijuana with several friends in the Bishop's Garden of the National Cathedral, the friends were expelled from St. Alban's School but young AGIII was allowed to stay. The Vice President switched AGIII to Sidwell Friends after being angered by teachers who made it clear they did not approve of the double standard involved.

The young man was a three sport athlete at STA and he was just charged with a gun violation. No evidence that he intended to harm anyone.

That is a pretty ignorant post. Why don't you take the time to look at the number of Landon alums listed on Princeton lacrosse roster. They are sending another kid to Princeton this year. They have more kids on Princeton than any school in the country I believe. Have you looked at Cornell's roster?

As for UVA, Yes I get the George Hugely joke, but out of Landon's graduating class of 83 boys, 4 are going to UVA. 1 happens to be recruited lacrosse player.

In Landon's current junior class, they have 2 student athletes who have both made verbal commitments to UVA.

You can take cracks all you want about the school or the lacrosse program but the school continues to pump kids into great academic schools (both lacrosse players and non lacrosse players)

On the other hand, I don't think it's a bad idea to dig a little deeper into a Landon kid's background. Are these schools doing that? Of course not - they're giving them verbal offers as 15 year olds.
