That's not a real option. It's about as real as saying one option is for liberals to start moving en masse to red states to change the vote there. In fact, that is probably more realistic. The notion that getting a small group of elite students to boycott a handful of schools will change anything is delusional. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Here’s the thing: southern schools have become very popular in recent years. Droves of kids from the east coast are flocking down to southern schools.

I think it’s because even liberals are more moderate than you realize.

There’s a backlash, and we Dems need to recognize it and take action.

"we Dems" - I'm sure you're a "Dem"

We're going to sign them all up to vote locally and torpedo your red enclaves. In fact i will start a scholarship fund for anyone who attends a university in a red county and agrees to vote Democrat.

I don’t have much to give, but if you start this, I will donate.

Next they'll come for IVF, and then contraception, and then gay marriage.

Or not being able to get a D&C at 8 weeks.

Even for women that have no complications, I expect red states will require doctors to report information to state authorities for monitoring. They're going to try to catch women who use abortion pills, go out state, use unlicensed abortion providers, etc., and to do that they will sweep up everyone's medical information. And they will most certainly make mistakes that turn into prosecutions of women who didn't get an abortion. Women who think they are safe because they would never get an abortion are kidding themselves.

This

If pills are being mailed, how can the USPS regulate it? Is it similar to how wine cannot be mailed to some states due to state laws?

No different than ordering sex toys or adult movies in some states back in the day. Or pepper spray. Or prohibited gun accessories like large magazines.

There are plenty of college educated professional women who are pro choice and will be happy to take those jobs. They’ll also be taxed less for every dollar they earn.

U mad bro?

I know so so so many highly educated pro-life women.

Until they have an unplanned pregnancy.

What are those UMC Republican women in Oklahoma and Texas going to do when their 17-year old daughter announces that her thug, loser boyfriend just got her pregnant and wants nothing to do with the baby?

They'll get her an abortion like privileged parents have always done.

Yes, they'll fly them to NYC or LA, stay in a luxury hotel, and get them abortions. Then shopping spree, mani-pedis!

Wait till the fascist forced birther equivalent of the Fugitive Slave Act passes. They’ll be cooling their heels like everyone else.

+1 wow

There are more who support the right to abortion than those who do not. Those who do will support you! If you lose your job, we'll help get you a new one.

I know 2 women who had summer positions in DC and slept with their bosses. One got pregnant and the boss paid for her abortion. I've reached out to see if she has her proof.

Oh, yeah, because guess what fellas? Even if they told you they kept not proof, they did. Women always keep the receipts. We have a lifetime of knowing and dealing with shadyass men.

You realize most people will read this and think today's ruling will keep this from happening in the future

FYI - it's very easy to get state residency in places like South Dakota and register to vote. They even friggin' advertise it as a benefit of their state.

Southern schools became more popular because NE schools are harder and harder to get into in each respective tier

Duke and Vandy and Emory/rice are the hyp of the south and are a LOT easier to get into

Davidson is WAY easier to get into than AWS

+1000

They will take a "sightseeing trip" to California or DC. Come on, y'all. People of means always have and always will have access to safe, medical abortions.

They will travel to Illinois, which will be the only abortion rights and women's health mecca in the middle of a vast sea of red. They already do. The blue states will want to do all they can to help, but the demand will outstrip the availability within short order.

I’m really ok with denying access to Republicans from red states to leave room for everyone else to get needed abortion services. Voter party registration is public record, and data miners can give you almost anything you’d want to know. I’d volunteer to do the job of vetting out of state applicants for abortion services.

Most states don’t have political discrimination laws, and the left-wing ones that do can easily create a carve out to give abortion providers a right of “conscience”.

Or that their son got a girl pregnant? What baby? Child support for 18 years? Nah
