We were in NYC this past weekend for a show.
:Masks were few and far between except in the actual theater. New York has moved on. Noone asked us for our covid cards anywhere.
Except NY keeps the those pesky toddlers masked up day at daycare!![]()

The less we continue to talk about Covid , new case numbers, etc... the more we will normalize getting it. Your kid is probably going to get sick 5 or 6 times a year. If one of those times it happens to be covid... it statistically and scientifically likely won't matter.
Seriously? Its not the kids in our home I worry about getting sick, its the adults. Lucky you covid is no big deal.
Sorry, I’m not testing my kids’ colds either.
Do you have your kids wear high-quality masks when they have symptoms and are out in public, including at school?
DP. Why would they? They didn’t before covid. People get sick from time to time. It’s normal.
Because that's what the CDC recommends.
Well, I let them eat raw cookie dough, too, so at least I’m consistent with my belief that the CDC guidelines are ridiculously cautious.
Yeah, I mean who cares about other people, am I right? F-them.
NP here. My loyalty is to my children. Not you. So yeah, I'm not going to destroy their lives to cater to your mental illness.

Peoples jobs are not supporting that without a positive PCR. It is April 2022.
That’s odd. My employer follows CDC guidelines. You stay home for the appropriate period of time if you test positive, then you can come back without any test.
And that Pp is talking to someone who HAS NOT tested positive. Most jobs aren’t extending special CoVID leave if you don’t have any proof you have CoVID. You could stay home I guess and burn up your sick days for not-Covid
Are jobs even giving special covid leave if you do test positive? Mine certainly isn’t. Even if you have covid, you’re on your own sick leave.

If they don’t care enough to get vaccinated/boosted and wear good, self-protecting masks, why should I care? And if they do those things, then covid isn't going to be a greater risk than countless other things they face on a daily basis.
So other people should wear masks all the time because you are too selfish to test when you or your kids are sick or to wear a mask when ACTUALLY sick? You are a lovely person.
Lots of people have asymptomatic cases or symptoms sufficiently mild enough to not be noticed as a sign of infection. If you’re terrified of covid, then I don’t see how symptomatic testing and masking would rationally calm your fears.
Who cares? We can't stop them. Decent people who are sick should at least make some effort to avoid transmitting to others, especially if they haven't tested. You don't see how testing to make sure you don't have COVID or your kid doesn't have COVID before sending the kids to school with symptoms would address rational COVID concerns? I'm more terrified of selfish and ignorant people like you than I am of COVID.
Ok. I don’t see how testing or masking would rationally address that fear, either.
Testing and masking when sick is basic human decency, something you apparently lack and are passing down to your kids. Hell, I'm not even saying don't send your kid to school sick or that you must test. I'm saying that at minimum, your kids should wear a mask and try to avoid spreading their sickness.
I’m sure you kept your kids home for every sniffle before covid...
Not that poster but I always kept mine home. It’s called parenting. You should try it.
For the sniffles? On one hand, that’s weird. On another hand, you’d have the be a SAHM. Either way, your post is worthless.

That’s what I told my kids. After society sold them out to try and protect people who were on death’s door anyway, I don’t see any reason to care about anyone other than close family and a few friends.
And, you sum up why we have so many issues right now in our country.
I can’t help it if people like you fell into media created hysteria over a virus that is no worse than a cold to the vast majority of people.
Get vaccinated and move on with your life. Stop living in fear.

Bet you had the only kids on the block who faked being well. No one would want to be stuck in a house with you.
DP. Are you five? Grow up
