Obviously the bathrooms issue isn’t going to be a top issue for the majority of people, including those who believe that bathrooms should be separated by sex. I don’t think biological males should be able to enter female bathrooms for example. However that’s the least of my concerns. I care about the issues you mentioned far more and fall on the liberal end of the spectrum of these debates specifically when it comes to immigration and female reproductive rights.

Do you think it would be a bigger concern for you if you had a daughter who was a competitive athlete who came in second place to a trans girl?

I am a former D1 athlete myself and have two athletic daughters who have transgender friends. They fully support their friends participating in sports.

IMO, sports are more about participation than winning since you never know who you'll be competing against. Even cisgender competitors can be mismatched. Focus on the PRs and growth more than the W.

If anyone's panties are in a bunch, we could do the CA approach of extra medals if there are any overlaps.

If it’s just about participation, we don’t need sex-segregated sports at all. Put everyone together.

That is the logical conclusion to all of this.

You do realize that your ability to brag about being a D1 athlete only exists due to TitleIX provisions for sex-segregated sports right?

Yes, TitleIX exists to promote equality in sports - for all women.

Women athletes have much bigger, real issues facing them right now. Funding, facilities, etc. These issues actually impact thousands of women in sports every year. Don’t hear Rs complaining about them.

The people who focus on transgender athletes don’t really GAF about women athletes - they are just bigots trying to score political points by triggering ignorant people.

Guessing they don’t have issues like menstruating all over the toilet seat and boys getting unexpected hard ons. Sorry not to be crass but Jesus who cares about your toddlers.

Probably yes. What I’m saying just because it’s not polling as a top issue, it doesn’t mean that people don’t care about it. Most Arlington parents that I have spoken to have admitted that the left has gone too far on this.

As a side note, there is no need to be combative. You would get more support on this issue if you didn’t jump on ppl who say something mildly different than what you are saying.

Or if you had a special education student at risk of losing services? If you relied on free and reduced lunch?

I have a kid who receives SN services and I think it’s beyond disgusting how the Republicans are trying to pit vulnerable groups against each other just to score political points.

+1. I have a kid who gets IEP services too and I am 100 percent in favor of what APS is doing and also completely disgusted by Trump's attack on trans kids. He's not going to stop at trans kids, we know what he thinks of SN kids already.
