The settlement only involves about 27 D1 teams. That leaves about 100 of them that aren't involved. Several of those will opt in to pay athletes, but probably very few of the 100 group.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Only about 27 or so teams will be under the roster limitations unless a non-power 5 school decides to opt in to the terms so they can share revenue (with football and basketball players, mostly). It's unclear how many schools will opt in. A school like UConn might. Or Georgetown if they ever expect to win in basketball again.Anonymous wrote:Why do you all keep looking at the commits for other classes. It all depends on how good the team is in the age group. Personally there were a few surprises to make capital this year and there may be some changes to that team next summer. The bigger question is going to be how many spots are open for our daughters. With roster limits going into effect and coaches holding some spots for transfers how does that impact the 28s.
But I doubt there will be a lot. So power conference schools, only like 7 of them are over 38 as of now. For a total of 18 roster spots.
Answer: unlikely you see any effect.
This is not true. Teams will not have the option to opt out and 38 man roster is coming. 2025’s are currently having verbal commitments revoked. Hopefully it will be sorted out a little before the 2028’s recruiting year but I expect smaller recruiting classes.

Right. Someone says handle yourself better so that = hate.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Handling yourself better would lead to a lot less of the latter. To the former, again probably doesn't exist in a rotten form if you handle yourself better. Jealousy can lead to hate.
There is the hate right on queue.

2028 parents I have met over the years have been generally good people. The people I know would not wish failure or mock a teenage girl for not making a team. The snark and sometimes nasty comments have been good for ratings, but I don't feel like it is real.
