You’re correct about this. I wonder what Brandon did all day.

Jen’s ethics are scrutinized - even to the point of insinuating that she’s an unfit mother and Remy should live with Brandon. Brandon?!? Brandon is a low life scuz who has exhibited poor morals and ethics in just about any category you can name! I find it fascinating that people scrutinize Jen’s ethics and basically blame her for any of Brandon’s terrible actions (he was horrible because she pushed him to be…). The Christian spin on all of it is wild. The inconsistency and constant comparisons between the two Hatmakers is what compels me to defend her—it’s also what keeps me coming back to DCUM. I love to hate you guys! 🤣

That’s actually not how these things work. Most speakers/authors at her previous level have an agent and assistant who bang out all the contracts and deal with the business minutiae. I’m an influencer (yes, yes, I know) and work with an agency for all my brand deals. My husband certainly isn’t negotiating on my behalf. I think Brandon took care of the kids and did the basics, like paying the bills. But he wasn’t negotiating anything.

She could have had to sell the lake house to settle the divorce. She keeps the house and he gets ... nothing?
Anonymous wrote:I'm about to say something positive about Brandon so I guess that means I condone his cheater ways. Since Jen has acknowledged that she was not the one handling any aspect of the finances in her marriage, then it means Brandon was the one negotiating her book contracts and her speaking engagements. If he wasn't doing that on her behalf then she was lying about how much she knew about finances and she was doing it. If he was doing it on her behalf then he was an employee of their company and it wasn't Jen carrying everything. Sounds like she was the face but he was behind the scenes.

Not anymore, though.
The quick lake house sale was an indication that she needed to quickly cut down on expenses.

Selling the lakehouse may not have been a purely financial decision. It takes a huge amount of energy to maintain a household.
