I'm about to say something positive about Brandon so I guess that means I condone his cheater ways. Since Jen has acknowledged that she was not the one handling any aspect of the finances in her marriage, then it means Brandon was the one negotiating her book contracts and her speaking engagements. If he wasn't doing that on her behalf then she was lying about how much she knew about finances and she was doing it. If he was doing it on her behalf then he was an employee of their company and it wasn't Jen carrying everything. Sounds like she was the face but he was behind the scenes.

I do get a kick out of the person here who seems to be one of Jen's biggest fans. The one who is constantly trying to continue on with the tired and sexist debate of SAHMs vs. working moms and who assumes everyone on here is stuck in a marriage with a spouse who was/is unfaithful and that even if you work outside the home you surely must make pittance salary. Plus, the rally cry they have around the made up menace, the woke mob. The one who thinks Jen is a brilliant sales person just because she makes her own money. Lots of people on here make their own money and don't depend on partners for an income. Or they have a dual income I'm going to go out on a limb here and say they're probably not married to a cheater. The point everyone on here is trying to make is how she is earning her money. Not that she is earning money but the people she is exploiting to earn it. No one has an issue with her trying to make a living. Girl has to eat. But she is so blinded by herself that she doesn't consider ethics in her business transactions.

Jen is a single woman that needs to make money to support herself, so we shouldn’t care HOW she’s doing it!

Honest question - who was supporting their entire family of 7 over the past several years? JEN. And she was doing it without all of the shilling of “discount codes” and the constant ads. Do we really think Brandon was a heavy contributor to the family finances? He hasn’t pastored in years (and would he have even made that much money at ANC?). Was he pulling in a huge salary at Legacy Collective that is now just gone? If so, that says even more about LC being a terrible way to give.
She suddenly needs to make as much money as possible, through any means necessary, because now she has 1 kid in college and 1 at home instead of 5?!

Jen is making money promoting Better Help, which many commenters have stated is problematic - for both the customers and the counselors; and selling a therapy Me Course with her personal therapist, through an absolutely unethical partnership….
And we’re all supposed to cheer her on because…. She needs to make money after her divorce? I’m so confused. This is absolute capitalist, profit seeking, BS. How in the world do people justify this and follow it with, “You’re just mad she stands for equality!”.

Full agree. How many of the PPs here are SAHMs? And how many more have jobs that bring in significantly less than their husbands—with their paychecks not being a make/break situation for the family finances? The constant defense of Brandon tells me that lots of these women have settled for having an unfaithful partner. The bitterness that Jen didn’t have to accept adultery and betrayal and is instead able to pay her own way seems to be infuriating for some of these PPs.

If you don’t like how she’s making money, UNFOLLOW! Your rage engagement with her SM presence still helps her make money!

Yes, I have seen Jen’s comment section. Middle aged moms who believe in equal rights—which is the majority of Americans, so why you’re stuck here on Jen is confusing.

The idea of there being a “woke mob” is propaganda used to justify the relentless pursuit for inequality. The right has co-opted and weaponized the word woke and they use it against anyone who believes in LGBTQ+ rights, speaks out about police brutality, believes in a women’s right to choose, so on and so forth… Differing opinions do not a mob make. It👏is👏propaganda 👏 and you’ve fallen for it and perpetuate it.

Sure, if she were just another privileged white suburban woman, it would be easy to scroll right on by. But she's decided to package herself and her family as a product. If she speaks in hyperbole about what a financial wizard she is just because she learned how to refinance her mortgage, who cares. But when she speaks in hyperbole and then shills an online finance course, that makes her a modern day snake oil salesperson.

I don't think she owes anyone anything, especially about her kids. At the end of the day, I truly don't care about the Hatmakers. But it is very reassuring that not everyone buys into her grift, and it's interesting to hear about what was really going on at ANC.

It takes a pretty self-absorbed person to do this. Maybe in a guest room, maybe, but I wouldn’t put the husband out because I like to be considerate of him. Would I want him in our bed with his friends watching football and drinking beer? If she was an adult she’d ask herself adult questions like would I want to be treated this way? I can see how Brandon felt shut out of his marriage.

All of us in this thread seem to have been a Jen follower at some point. The overwhelming majority, at least. It seems like everyone here, regardless of whether they love or hate Jen, is capable of discernment. She’s not tricking people—she’s oversharing most of her business. It’s pretty easy to see that she frequently contradicts herself—that she’s changed stances on core beliefs—that her personal life is tied to her interpretation of her faith. The people who choose to click on the promo code or take the me course are informed participants. They don’t require your pity or vigilantism.

I think it’s fine to snark on Jen because you find her annoying, but don’t act like you’re doing the work of the Lord on a gossip thread. Just get on with the gossip.

Situation reversed: would we expect all the women to just smirk and roll eyes at their husbands hosting hangouts that intrude on the wife’s personal space and time and bedroom relaxation, then making jokes about spills and stains they leave behind for us gals to clean up? Jen really does think EVERYthing she does or says is cute or funny. It is so not. Maybe that’s why the girls cling to each other so hard… No one else would put up with them as friends!
