Who dresses him? He’s VP of the U.S. and cannot get a suit altered????

On the upside it does look like his GLP-1 has finally triggered some weight loss. His belly has deflated a bit.

Usha looks like she misplaced her sweater/blazer.

She looks like an overstuffed leather chair.

Yes! I can’t help but go over money when I see her choices. I do think Melania has a good sense of a luxury fabric, but the outfits and tailoring so often don’t work as a whole. I imagine this would be what, $10,000 minimum? The CH canary yellow dress, $8k? And yet everything lacks panache.

She had to find a dress in the Ukrainian yellow after Putin screwed Trump by going to Beijing. That was just 2 weeks ago. I'm sure they had to hunt high and low for a dress in that color that would send the message he wanted to send.

No, the Trump administration doesn't "send messages" via clothing. They just say it on the Truth Social or whatever. They're too stupid to do anything else other than say what they want to say. There are no coded messages here, PP, don't be stupid.

I really like what Usha's wearing - classic and elegant and much better looking than the high-low shirt dress with weird belt that the PoJ is wearing.

I think she looks nice too but LOVE the high low shirt dress. Do others really not? (I am 6 inches shorter than that woman so not for me but think it's so pretty.)

The high low dress is nice, I agree, I always love a warm purple/red tone and the hemline works, removes any potential frumpiness that the midi length can bring

It is strange she wore the same outfit the next day--very unlike her. When they left the WH after Trump lost the election, she changed from a black Jackie Onassis dress into a Florida-style muu muu. That seemed to be making a statement that she was a spa-Florida-sunshine lady of leisure now. So, she has changed her clothing before.

But with Baron supposedly back at the White House, why wouldn’t she go there? I know her family is in Florida, but her son isn’t - or is he??

I am her biggest hater but this is...fine

It's fine. But it adds more fuel to my theory that Usha is just really depressed and barely able to pull it together for public appearances. It screams frazzled, WOHM who stopped at WHBM on the way home to buy something for an event.

Just stop. It wasn't "an event". She looks lovely and the Princess of Jordan looks pretty casual. It was just them hosting the couple at their home.

Of course it is an event! Meetings between heads is states.

The top looks like a shell (not a seashell but the kind of base layer of clothing called a "shell"), looks like it needs a blazer, cardigan, wrap, scarf or something to complete the look.

No, it's blissfully simple.

Simple would have been a sleeveless sweater or sleeveless silk knit top with an interesting neckline. Not a shell in woven polyester that is obviously meant to be worn under something.

Trump lost his balance, I see, and stumbled into Mel.

Or he nudged her to hold his hand.

I say he was weaving like he did on the red carpet with Putin.

There is nothing about that picture that screams frazzled.

The issue is that she looks like she's doing the bare minimum to look presentable at an event. She's SLOTUS and her job right now is to represent the US at events...and dinner with foreign royalty, even at their house, is an official event.

For me, the frazzled part is something I can relate to. I worked all day, kids will be all over me when I get home and sitter doesn't arrive for another hour, but oh no the dress I was going to wear to this dinner for DH's work is at the dry cleaners. So let me stop at the mall and get the first reasonable thing that fits. If I'm lucky, I will have time to shower, blow dry my hair, and do 5 min of makeup. That's what she looks like, but that isn't her life anymore.

100% Fauxlania. 100%

Sunglasses to cover her deeply emotional face. Holding hands with the love of her life. The kind of love that last forever on a paper.

Fauxlania even flashed a smile and then remembered Mel doesn't smile. AND, Fauxlania has a better, curvy, figure of a woman still producing estrogen. Finally, as others said, Faux is still SS and has to keep the man safe so grabbed his hand for support.

Her blank stare? Her hair? She must feel hollow inside. Once a proud democrat with a career, now shamed by her choice of marriage partner and unable to escape.

Usha is fine, very mumsy/librarian but it’s fine except the shoes. I am surprised by how quickly she is aging. I guess I don’t look at her up close ever, but she looks much older than her husband.

Oh come on. The white is very nice and flatters her. Agree with PP that a shoe of some color might have been nicer but I appreciate wanting a god solid shoe that will work with anything.
I do not know why JD always looks like a teenager that had to put on a suit for his cousin’s wedding.

Because he is extremely uncomfortable in his own skin. Just like he doesn't know his first name, he doesn't know his body. I assume he's been on weight loss meds since he decided to campaign for the VP spot and still wears his pants as if a belly was pushing them down.
