That’s a big accomplishment for FCV 08. Middle school soccer or not, it was a solid showing for them.
Congrats for them

3. VDA (Win over Bethesda, Loss to NC Courage and tie to Union)
4. Arlington (Loss to Richmond, have not played other good opponents yet)
5. FCV (Win and Loss to Virginia Union)
6. Bethesda (Wins over Matchfit, Maryland United, and Loudoun)
7. Loudoun (4-1 in ECNL)
8. Virginia Union (1-2-2 in ECNL play, win and tie against FCV, tie to Union)
9. Metro United (Loss to FCV, tie to Skyline)
10. Maryland United (Losses to VYS, Bethesda, and tie to FC Delco, lost to Pipeline 5-1)
I could have easily put VYS or FC Frederick at #10. If Arlington can get a win against NC Courage or VDA, them they go up. They need a quality win to back up it’s hype.
This is the made up ranking that is pretty accurate as of this moment till some ecnl games are played this weekend.
It isn't that accurate considering the high ranking of FCV considering the weak strength of schedule they play in GA. Bethesda deserves to be higher than FCV based on strength of schedule and winning results against the highest strength of schedule. Loudoun is even with FCV and VA Union has performed well with their second highest strength of schedule among the four teams.
47.5 Average National Ranking for Bethesda opponent.
99 Average National Ranking for Arlington opponent
168.75 Average National Ranking for VA Union opponents
299.5 Average National Ranking for FCV opponent
301.5 Average National Ranking for Loudoun opponent
1. Richmond
2. Pipeline
3. VDA (Win over Bethesda, Loss to NC Courage and tie to Union)
4. Bethesda (Wins over Matchfit, Maryland United, and Loudoun, highest strength of schedule)
5. Arlington (Loss to Richmond, 2nd highest strength of schedule)
6. Loudoun (4-1 in ECNL Weakest strength of schedule)
7. Virginia Union (1-2-2 in ECNL play, Regulation win and tie against FCV, tie to Union as well as higher strength of schedule)
8. FCV (Win and Loss to Virginia Union 4th weakest strength of schedule and split results against Union)
9. Metro United (Loss to FCV, tie to Skyline)
10. Maryland United (Losses to VYS, Bethesda, and tie to FC Delco, lost to Pipeline 5-1)
Both of these are better than the above post. Everyone has an opinion however. I would sub out out VYS with Metro, and that is about it. Bethesda and Arlington are a toss up but both are likely better than Arlington. FCV and Union are a toss up as well. Metro is behind both VYS and Maryland United. No way they could beat either of those teams. Everyone also seems to forget about FC Frederick.
All those Maryland teams are counterfeit. Pipeline? Lol no. BSC beating Loudoun and Maryland United means nothing. Those three teams are in that bunch of like 7-8 teams that will beat each other but never beat the top teams. Actually Maryland United is is borderline and should not be included.
The thing is the top 1 or 2 teams are just in a different league vs the rest of the group. There is little difference between the teams in the rest of the group. Team A will beat team B who will beat team C who will beat team A just depending on the day.
VYS, Maryland United and FC Frederick are clearly below the "rest of the group".
I would say that VYS, MD united and Frederick would compete with any of the 4-10 list. Vys posses the ball well, Frederick defends well and MD united has good athletes that can score.
VYS lost to Arlington red 0-2. That is Arlington’s second team. So no.
VYS tied Arlington's first team 3-3 and beat Maryland United so they have already demonstrated that they are competitive in head to head games.

What are you talking about?
74 games were played in the 08 age group yesterday and only 12 games had goal differentials of 3 goals or more. The top 3 brackets had two games with a GD of 3 and 4.
In short, nearly ALL games in ALL brackets are close and low scoring games.

They only lost 2-0, which is a competitive game.
But in the end they lost to two lower tier ECNL teams. Just stop already. Only one team outside of ECNL/GA is doing well which is the team from Florida who won the USYS National Championship.
To take things one step further, FCV tied the same team as Bethesda did a few weeks ago, FC Bucks. Top 08 GA team tied a lower ECNL team. Please get off the GA wagon, at least in the DMV. Seems North Atlantic GA is just fine however.
Please arlington a 3rd place team in ga last year. Now they are the top team in ECNL. The only difference between Ga and ECNL is the number of teams. The DMV ECNL teams are nothing special.
Arlington is in 5th idiot just above Loudoun. They also have had one of the easiest schedules. They also had a draw against CESA.
But anyway, it’s obvious you are just an FCV parent trying to save face through Arlington. Hate to tell you this, but Arlington will finish middle or bottom of the pack by next Spring.
1) NC Courage arlington tied
2) Richmond United 3-2 lost should have won
3) Charlotte SA 4-1 win
4) VDA have not played
5) Arlington
Out of 7 game played 1-3 …yes the easiest schedule! Arlington will be the top by the spring. You sound bitter.
Arlington will crush VDA and Loudoun.
