The above statement no sense. Berkeley, UCLA, and Michigan are the three premier public universities in this country. They are also all ranked in the top 25 schools and are a better value than most privates schools at equal costs.

UCLA and Cal are west coast schools. There is a distance from DC that must be taken into consideration. Those two schools are Michigan’s public peers. UNC is not quite at Michigan’s level and is extremely hard to get into from OOS. UVA is the local school that, in spite of your aberrations, is not quite at Michigan’s level overall academically. How that makes the school overrated is beyond me.
Michigan might have higher rankings in STEM but the caliber of student at Michigan and UVA is the same based on test scores.
Which just proves that UVA is overrated.
