Trust and believe, Loudoun and Mclean will be pushing for that over Arlington and or FCV
But quality-wise, Arlington and FCV are better, even in a diluted market, than Beach. My DD has played Beach, and has also scrimmaged Arlington DA team. Not even close to the same.
Because the best Beach kids are at Richmond United. They have no other option.
I don't think Arlington would want to be in ECNL if both boys and girls have to join together. The boys side of ECNL in this area is just not competitive. There are two or three pretty good non-DA boys clubs in the area and none of them are ECNL clubs. And of the good clubs only Pipeline can really field teams which are competitive with the boys DA teams, and even then perhaps not at every age group.
What age group are you talking about? In the 03 age group, BRYC, MCLEAN and LOUDOUN are all head and shoulders above Arlington 03. It has been exhibited in head to head games.
All the other BRYC girls’ age groups have lost badly to Arlington.
That was a boys question.

Those ECNL clubs will maybe have 3-4 spots per age group. McLean already with 20+ on every roster, the others will not be able to take many. There will be displaced DA players that can’t get on those teams. US Soccer have Messed this up.

There are so many additional variables here, not just DA closing.
Some clubs won’t survive the COVID economic fallout.
Some players will choose not to return
Some players will not stay in shape over the shutdown months.
And no one’s on a field again until July at the earliest, even for tryouts.

You must be new to this. Up until a few years ago, most ECNL clubs had been insisting their kids not play HS.
You must be new to this because ECNL kids use to play year around while simultaneously playing HS. Its was considered too much. So the clubs tried to block it. However, it didn't work.
ECNL is not setup like that anymore.

Most clubs did have success in blocking players from playing HS, until ECNL started using HS as part of their recruiting pitch.
Not true. Most kids continued to play HS. Terry may have threatened them with less playing time, etc. However, most were not willing to give it up. If they do so, it was reluctantly. Again, this was a time when ECNL was year around with no break for High school. The ECNL changed that after the creation of the DA.

It's all age-group/team dependent versus which club is "better" than the other.
Its about loyalty and market share. The paying customer is the paying customer. The uniform they wear means less.
Whoever has the golden ticket (ECNL) will get the existing player pool. End of Story.

Wondering how may parents from these DA clubs are trying to get ahold of their coach or TD to find out what the F is going on and why they have not received a letter like the SURF letter that went out, describing what’s up. Any insights?
