Not surprising, IMO. They are often on the wrong side of issues.

Not shocking: A grifter gets Trumpsters to believe his story
Shocking: Quillette actually has journalistic standards
I watched the whole video, including the "damning part" around the 9 minute mark. There is nothing in that video showing that they were plotting to initiate or instigate a fight. They were there to demonstrate against Antifa, absolutely, but the talk centers around what to do when they are invariably attacked, because they know Antifa is violent. The black guy clearly stated that Antifa knows they are coming and is sitting there waiting for them. If you read Alex Zielinski's tweet, you'd think that they were talking like "okay, you two go over to this corner, shout some insults to draw Antifa's attention, and I will lead the left flank to emerge from this alley and pound them with bricks and batons." That is not at all what they were discussing. They are discussing whether they should walk right past the Antifa group that's waiting their for them, or across the street, and the one guy says they'll be attacked regardless so you want to fight "heavy". It's very clear they were not there to initiate violence, but expected it and was discussing what to do if they were attacked.
If the video had not been posted, I'd say this was a fine example of fake news. But since Alex posted the actual video, it's pretty clear that Alex is simply detatched from reality.
You write pretty stories, but Portland police have arrested and charged six of the men on the video with inciting a riot and a raft of other charges.
If they were innocent, they would not have been arrested and Andy would still have a job.
Conservatives: play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
I didn't write any stories - I just typed into words what is seen in the video. The Portland Police is famous for its left-leaning tilt. They stand by and do nothing with Antifa making "milkshakes". How many of those guys were arrested?
Also, in this country, people are innocent until proven guilty. Just because they were arrested by the police doesn't mean they are guilty.

Why do you think Ngo lost his job? Quilette also has a left wing bias, you think?
I don't know why Ngo lost his job. I'm not here to speculate. I'm just relaying what I saw in the video, the contents of which contradicts with the video. I'm not a fan of Quilette or Ngo. I've never read Quilette in the past and don't really know of Ngo other than this now-famous incident.
Sounds like you are here to speculate, and that if maybe you did a little reading up on Ngo and the place he lost his job from, you'd perhaps have a little more nuance in your perspective here.
He's another right wing fraud, who tried to lie in order to push his political cause - and now he's paying some price for it. I have zero doubt he'll reemerge as a Fox commentator or something like that. You all take care of your own.
+1. Ngo is a liar.
