DC’s dorm was gutted and renovated in 2018, and it’s a helluva lot nicer than I expected.
DC’s classrooms are clean, well-lit, and outfitted with the latest technology. He studies in the Rotunda, Music Library & Law Library (the staff don’t mind that he’s an undergrad), all clean and quiet. I wish DCUM would give specifics when making sweeping statements, but, you know, it’s DCUM.
Me too, all renovated dorms, new dorms, never seen so much as a speck of trash other then graduation day when there was confetti on the lawn.
+1 Dropping back off on Wednesday, I'll look for the filthy dumpy parts.
LOL. You won't have to "look" too hard.
I think we will since I know I have been there probably a dozen times as my kids are first years and I have yet to find any filth...so, if you could let us know where we should go that'd be helpful.
Some fraternities need work and clean up, but they are not on university grounds. I recall the university let University Hall go a bit, but they were planning to tear it down (and now have), so that made sense. Other than that, I don't recall anything anywhere close to filth.[/quote]
+1. And I'm there. There is some UVA basher in this forum who likes to say nasty things about UVA. Last week he or she called Charlottesville - the entire city! - "sinister". LOL. And I live in Charlottesville. Probably a Virginia Tech of UMD student (rivals) having fun. Or someone who didn't get in.

I agree about W&M, there is not much to look at. The town is pretty tho.
JMU is clean and well landscaped. Stone buildings are nice. VT is nice looking. UVA is kinda dirty and drab. VCU has some nice buildings, but the areas outside campus are very urban.
Anonymous wrote:USNA. Beautiful buildings, gorgeous campus. Hard to beat.

Michigan State is one of the ugliest campuses I’ve ever seen.
You must be a Michigan grad just interested in bashing. That's just an absurd statement. It's an enormous campus with tons of nice buildings and landscaping.

Georgetown’s sucks.

Most of the SUNYs are tough. SUNY Binghamton is particularly tough.

There was a recent thread about some really ugly campus buildings:
