Having been at 2 of these I can tell you that FCV isn't interested in developing anyone. They want the best player available and if you're not it then you will sit and they will replace you. They are interested in finding that 1 national team player they can put all over there website to attract more players and hence make money. Hence they win alot. The parents place great value on winning and as such they are all very competitive and the girls are not supportive... how can they be when the attitude is - if you are playing that means I'm not. Spirit is much more about giving girls the space and time to develop. They really aren't concerned about winning at all costs because while profitable, its not a business like FCV.

So if Wash Spirit DA goes away, would you go back to FCV...or Arlington? Or ECNL?

I don’t know anyone who has left fcv who would ever go back there.

PP mentioned a pipeline for McLean and BRYC players? Why would those kids leave other than being cut? US Soccer award a DA to Great Falls? What’re players getting out of the GDA at this point? ECNL seems to have all the talent aside from those at FCV.

Nobody who has seen WS VA's U15 team would conclude that "ECNL seems to have all the talent."

This is delusional. The WSVA U15 is bereft of talent. Doesn't matter how good the coaching is. The 07 playing up is hurting her development playing in games where she cannot touch the ball. She is a very good player but 3 years up is too many.

"Bereft" is an unnecessary fighting word. Ignore the play up -- that conversation is not even worth having. I suspect some of the U15 players at Spirit who are actually 14-15 will land at other area U15 DA and ECNL teams if Spirit is no longer available. Not all, but several. Stop generalizing. It just shows bias. If you said Spirit "lacks depth" or "lacks a strong player who can finish", etc., people might acknowledge your point. But instead, you're just being a jerk who is spending the day criticizing teenage girls you don't know and haven't watched practice or play more than maybe once, if that.

And maybe ECNL girls might be wanting to go to DA instead.

Sounds like the Spirit results of not winning as many games don't bother Spirit parents, because they feel like their daughters are playing and developing.

I believe this one falls into the heavy sarcasm category.

Yes. Also important to note they play a 2008 and a couple of 2007s on the team. So it may make sense why the team has trouble against more developed 2006s on the other DA teams. But, haters gonna hate. Must be a sorry existence for their star DD in their current club to have to bash a bunch of little 12 year old girls at Spirit.

Pathetic.

LOL I was thinking same thing.

My sentiments exactly. Based on past history, it's very likely that the anti-Spirit posts are by the proven sock puppet on this forum, as they were in the past.

Or a pro-Spirit sock puppet more likely

Ahhh, yes, where would we be without our beloved Sock Puppet guy. The guy who thinks that any post that express the same sentiment must always be the same person.

The thread would sure be more boring without him! I also agree there is one anti-WS person on the board based on patterns and language and the fact they were exposed previously. Same person that hates Loudoun too. The agenda is pretty obvious...

Wow, Spirit hyperman is starting to talk to himself. Must be tough for him right now.

You mean someone who wants the club their kid in to succeed is hype? So you're taking time out of your day to attack a club that you have no involvement with but a poster who is happy where they are and wants it to grow and succeed deserves scorn? "Hype man has a vested interest in their kid which makes sense. Why you seem so offended by a posters support of where their kid is playing soccer is frankly fascinating.

Agree with this. What makes it even more fascinating is that no supporter is making outrageous claims, such as "FCV's top DA players (or Loudoun ECNL, etc) are coming to Spirit in droves!" The comments are all realistic and ring true to those who have knowledge of the program with kids in it.

Then you have the wildly negative comments or heavy sarcasm throughout from people who clearly have no insight into the program and have an axe to grind with Spirit. I know one individual personally who fits this in real life, and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if she weren't one of the posters here. But who can really know when everything is anonymous!
