No one in Naomi’s camp is complaining. She got the title, the payday and people are still taking about her a week later and will do so years to come. Many more people know about her with Serena’s outburst than would have known about her without.

So, she should thank Senera?? That's a morbid analogy but whatever.![]()

We all know Serena's a living legend - she has worked hard to get where she is today. No one can take that away from her. I saw a funny statement on Twitter the other day that was directed at her detractors: "Serena Williams is better at tennis than you are at whatever you are best at." Yep. Pretty much.

I hate it when somebody is called out on their obvious poor behavior and they immediately hide behind the cloak of racism and sexism.....it's dishonest and deceitful. The real thief in that march was Serena.....she stole what should have been a wonderful moment from Osaka.

They should, anyone who saw the way Serena talked to the umpire should know how humiliating that was, with her finger pointing, shouting out loud so everyone heard what she was treating with. I use scene to teach my kids how not to talk.
There are a million examples of men doing the same, why is it this one event you use to teach your children?
Yeah if you watch tennis this happens weekly and I’m not exaggerating and it’s usually men. Why did you picked Serena as the example?
Serena is more conspicuous because she’s female, black and dominant in the sport. Unfortunately, any missteps get amplified. White males get more of a pass. Heck, it’s like this in lots of workplaces where there are few POC.

Not only did she break them, she doubled down and asked for an apology from the ref. I was embarrassed for her as an athlete. Invoking her motherhood and gender only underscored how unhinged she was and unable to control herself. There are ways for her to address her assertion that she was unfairly treated. That was most certainly not it.
