Wells---unless this is your maiden name or a family name, it's overdone. Same with Walker, Pippa, Poppy

Jacqueline pronounced Zsha-clean. She was definitely not French and I called her Jackie.

See, and I think the most pretentious name is any name the parents follow up with "it's a family name." The more posh and/or obscure, the more pretentious this is, but you can make any name pretentious by adding those four words.

"Frank. It's a family name."

"Olivia. It's a family name."

"Jed. It's a family name."

And so on. Nothing wrong with using a family name, but advertising this is pretentious.

Bentley/Bentlie
Beckham
Lexus
Wilder
Winthrop
Wolf/Bear
Elle
Alix (pronounced Aleex) as nickname for an Alexandra (family is American, mom is obsessed with European/British royalty)

Any place name - Brooklyn, Paris, etc.

I'll give people a pass if it is a legit family name, but if it is just parents picking a name trying to be unique or because some celebrity used it or it sounds "high class," that's pretentious.

Agree with all of these except Ashleigh/Lynleigh/Brynleigh, which don't sound pretentious -- they sound like this embarrassing trashy Utah names.

The rest, though, yes. Especially Salinger and Guinevere.
