Please stop telling black people that they have to just accept being called the n word ! Intent isn’t all that matters.
One marginalised community should not have their dignity stripped to maintain another’s.
Come on all DEI consultants out there. This is your moment of glory. Come up with win win solutions to this cluster f***.
I swear opens in America in two months and it’s lead actor is already in 2027 Oscar contention after winning BAFTA. That’s going to be a long year of press which Davidson is very likely going to be involved in.

The win-win was very simple, and it’s possibly too late. All that was needed was for Mr Davidson or his team to quickly apologize for the impact of his behavior and to discuss plans for handling future issues in similar circumstances
“Although my verbal tics are not behaviors that I can control, I apologize for the pain that they have caused three people who I respect, as well as the general public who heard my words. In the future, I will make every effort to be certain that I am not seated near microphones to minimize exposure to my vocal tics. Again, I am deeply sorry for the pain that my words have caused.”
That’s it. Mr Davidson has said that he saw the faces of the two presenters change in response to his vocal tics, and realized that he had been heard. Had he apologized as soon as he could, this would be non-story. Instead, he left the room, then went to the dinner: subjecting at least one more person to his very focused, racist tic.
Pretty much every toddler knows that when you hurt someone, you “Say Sorry”. Mr Davidson knows this and has done this before. Why did he choose not to in this instance? And why was it broadcast when there was, supposedly, a two hour delay?

It's amazing how simple this could have been.
That’s actually not how it works in schools when special needs are involved.

They were asked by the organizers to present an award, only to face racial slurs when appearing on stage. You could see the hurt on their faces after the n word was yelled at them. The organizers of the event did nothing to apologize to them. The host issued a throwaway apology “IF you were offended.”
It has to be humiliating for them. The broadcasters had two hours to remove the racial slur before the event was televised, but did nothing. That movement will forever be on the internet.
The man who used the slur has issued nothing but a series of self-serving statements to promote his movie. People are making a bunch of excuses for him and behaving as if he is the victim. I’m not sure he’s not racist. He yells generic profanity at white people, yet yells the n word as soon as he sees a black person - he yelled the same slur at the Sinners production designer upon seeing her at the dinner. It’s shameful that he has not apologized for the hurt he has caused.
