sure, 35 ACT (one sitting), all 35, one 36R, for STEM kid, also took SAT, 790M, national science award, school-wide leadership (leader/school wide committees), outside of school leadership, high STEM rigor (Physics C, Calc BC (junior), advanced math (senior), AP language - school service trip to country to support language interest), outside of school selective research program, outside of school math, private school.

I think 4.2 wgpa and we calculated 3.8 for unweighted. Test-optional. High but not highest rigor (so AP Calc but AB, not BC or multivariate; AP bio and enviro science, not physics or chem).
Also got into the honors program.

Not PP, but some schools in Scotland and the UK make conditional offers which require, for example, competing the academic year with certain grades or completing certain classes or demonstrating proficiency in English. Unconditional means that there are no conditions so you are in!

DP. Thank you for that explanation and I’m guessing an unconditional offer means the applicant was thoroughly qualified. So, double 👍!
Also some UK schools make offers dependent on kids' AP scores which dont come until JULY. Ask me how I know

I wouldn’t spend 4 winters in Minnesota if they paid ME $30k/year.
Georgian who went to college there and moved back decades later (via Boston and DC most of adult life). First of all, not cool to rain on someone's parade, but also it's such a cliche to make weather comments about Minnesota. As Prince said, the cold keeps the bad people out. Winter culture is much more vibrant than you can imagine, and I got out way more in Minneapolis than I did in NOVA or Boston during the cold months. Snowshoeing, cross country and downhill skiing, snow tubing and saunas. The Luminary Loppet on Lake of the Isles is magical. I never ice fished, but of course many do. We live in Europe right now and my DD debates where she wants to go in two years for college. She is top of her class, super high stats, but loves the vibe at the U. I hope PP's kid has a blast. I moved there the year of the infamous Halloween snowstorm - an amazing memory that bonds all of my dorm mates to this day.
PP - can you share stats and program for the $30k merit please?

Most of the Jesuit/Catholic schools aren't going to get you close to in-state tuition unless you get one of their big scholarships. My son has been accepted to a couple of them and the awards get you almost to 40. He has one more that is due to hit today. He is an average kid.

I'm that PP...and oops....my bad! I just struggle to consider OK..."the South"* I would've thought it had as much or more in common with Kansas/Nebraska than Texas but I clearly should've reviewed my geography.
(*kinda like I think many wouldn't consider Delaware or Maryland "the South" either)
Still, though, it's a part of the Country I would love to explore more.

We applied recently, but it seemed we wouldn't hear anything until after uploading midterm grades. Did you all need to do that?
My DC uploaded quarter grades and was accepted two days later.
