Season starts this week for ISL and WCAC. Some interesting cross-conference matchups, and non-conference (out of area) games over the next few weeks.
--SR running a 3 game IAAM gauntlet that includes SPSG to prep for the heart of the ISL schedule.
--GC playing IAAM power Maryvale and two tough Philly teams, putting their winning streak on the line.
--Potomac plays the 3 WCAC teams competing for the #2 spot in succession (SJC, BI, and PVI) before heading up to PA. We should get a bearing on how the WCAC stacks up, in addition to seeing how strong Potomac is from these results.
--Visi is not messing around with its early season schedule, playing Severn, SPSG, McDonough, Maryvale, and GC this month. Clearly an iron sharpens iron approach.
Hoping for a fun and injury-free start for all local teams.
Great post with fair and balanced commentary.
Let the games begin.
GC can't look to far ahead with the first game against Notre Dame Prep who won't be an easy out. Can't see them beating Maryvale since they'll be down arguably their best player for a least the first part of the season. That said, I don't see much competition in conference for them.
Potomac sweeps the WCAC slate (would be a good matchup with GC).
Visi vs Severn and SPSG are both scrimmages, but should be good prep for the season. I dont think they can match up with McD, BUT lots of turnover for McD from last year so could be interesting.

I am a little more bearish on Bullis. Holy Child is my darkhorse.
