Let's hope the selection process is merit based and not deep pockets getting their kids buried in the team since the coaches are in their pockets. If I were Brave, I will demand an independent coach to come assess the players at the tryouts and make the selection so its fair. The teams can make their Veo games available as part of the evaluation of each player. Unfortunately, this would not happen and there will still be weak links on the consolidated team (undersize, not fast and physical, technical skills lacking and always getting pushed off the ball).
The stronger players always have do more to compensate for this when they are in the game, like they are playing one or two players down. This creates a situation where the these stronger players are risking getting injured -- ACL, MCL tears. These coaches really need to clean this up.
Under Coach Kevin (Bethesda), this will never happen. The weak ones rarely plays and eventually are replaced.
In a new equal partnership and the new ECNL club it won’t be up to just McLean-Union.
hahaha, I would love to see you tell Nadir or Clyde you want an independent assessment. It's never been fair in these circumstances and it never will be whether you're talking about McLean or anywhere else. The incumbents on the Union teams have the upper hand until it is clear that an outside player is head and shoulders better. That's what sucks about this merger... if you're a mid-pack or lower BRAVE ECNL player, you're in a tough spot. As a parent, it's your job to know how this works and have a plan B at least. Demanding justice will get you nowhere.
Similarly, if you’re a mid-pack or lower Union player, you’re in a tough spot.

Whoever holds the license holds the upper hand. That's just the way it works. When one company absorbs another its called a 'merger' --that's just for show. It's really an acquisition of one company by another. So, the question is who retains the ECNL National license--and whose 'plan' is it really?
McLean has the ECNL Charter. Brave charter was good for two years and it will not be renewed by ECNL.
Where is does it say there is a two charter to be renewed or not? Just curious. Cant find any reference to that. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-NdLhy6yTgRJrXKs8evae4c84mwtfFm17IJmgdjZXOk/edit
Two years ago Fairfax Brave was formed due to BRYC performance. Pretty much the club can’t compete. When they created Brave the license is good for two year with certain conditions that need to be fixed. Now it’s two years and Brave didn’t meet the fix the requirements. So Brave ECNL license will not be renewal. ECNL asked McLean to help out Brave

And so what is McLean doing now to help out Brave? And didn’t the McLean TD messiah guy just resign or something to go join GFR? Clear as mud. I’m just praying my kids coach in the fall is a good one. Happy where we are.Anonymous02/21/2024 23:30 Subject: ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

For boys yes but not for girls
Really? Who is better than SYC girls in the pre-ECNL years (before talent left for ECNL programs)? Only McLean and Loudoun, and maybe Bethesda, are close to them.
Why would ECNL girls move to SYC now? For boys it has MLS Next which is higher than ECNLAnonymous02/21/2024 23:21 Subject: ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

MV loves politics and will thrive at McLean. If he is a coach and you’re not from Vienna. Good luck.
what is wrong with MV. I heard lot of rumors about him.
BRAVE players and families are very happy with MV as a coach. Just ask any on his current teams. Will be hard to get buy-in from many BRAVE families if he’s not a coach in the new partnership club.
Is it true that MV has the 2008 group since VYS? Again with Brave?
Yes. They had a different coach when they were 6 though.
Good luck with recruiting and to all the McLean kids.Anonymous02/21/2024 23:03 Subject: ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership
