We are a family of 6. All except the little one are vaxxed. DW and I will continue masking in stores as long as our youngest isn't vaccinated.

No, not masking isn’t virtue signaling. We have never continuously worn masks and we should especially not do so now that it’s very clear they do little good. It’s time to move on.

It’s kinda the opposite, you’re wearing a mask that has not much of an impact just to prove you’re a “good boy”.

If masks are useless then why are they required at my cancer center? They’re not useless for us - patients and staff. Don’t judge when you have no idea what others are going through.

Is there actually a requirement to mask in USPS? As of today? CDC says DC is low transmission. My federal office has removed mask requirements, as has my spouse’s federal office. As we all know the local mask ordinance is gone too. USPS is not a health care facility, and it’s not an airport or plane. Is it just an employee on a power trip I’m free to ignore next time? I said I did not think they were required anymore, but thanked her with pretend sincerity for informing me of the requirement, she took my package, but said I needed one next time.

PP here. I should add the at the mandatory quarantine isn’t just for the positive kid but for all the kids in the class. I hope all the other parents are masking too. We are all in this together if any kid tests positive. It’s a small thing to do for the sake of all the working parents in the class.

I think quarantine rules will have to change as states accept COVID as endemic. Especially since the vaccine is not proving effective at preventing transmission. It’s baffling at this point that there are different rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated kids at this point.
