RL is starting to gain momentum. If you really look at the data RL is not getting the same number of D1 recruits but is killing GA in D2/3 also outside of the GA Champions League teams RL is basically right behind GA.
My kid plays in the GA on a west coast team and it’s really a waste of money the games are basically RL level or worse with very few quality showcases on west
coast.
Which club? Or is this just made up nonsense?
Everyone knows its made up nonsense. Easy to verify/confirm with the ranking app.

All RL is doing is busy taking over USYS NL — maybe that’s good for kids in those clubs, if it helps improve the soccer and college dreams. Others would say it’s simply watering down the league.
strange 4 GA teams just bolted for the RL last week. more to come
They were bad teams. Weird RL would take them if they are trying to change the narrative on NL V GA V RL V Aspire

Sooo pathway to ???Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Sounds like some folks on Oregon talking soccer think the new ECNL RL league there is just re-creating a state league but with fewer teams. Others want to save money on travel.
Nice long thread over there.
And some think it's a pathway to main ECNL for the top teams that win the league (promises made, apparently). Lots of bashing of the main state org, too.
Also interesting in how some of the big established ECNL/RL clubs have nothing to do with it, sorta like the one they built in Michigan.

Average players chase leagues.
"ECNL hats" are the typical parent of an average kid who hold on hope that the league will make their kid a star. It doesn't work that way.
Most kids who end up at ECNL or GA aren't average in youth soccer. They're basically kids in the top 10-15%, who have a shot at college or higher if they work hard, continue to develop and get lucky injury-wise. Most parents are realistic about their chances but, like their kid, are competitive and want to give their kid the best shot at reaching their full potential. They leave their original clubs because they've in a lot of ways outgrown these places and it makes sense for them to compete at the higher level. Moving also gives them a good test, because elite clubs often act like colleges do in terms of accountability and playing time. At the same time, if they could stay, they would. It all depends on coaching and their original club's level.
Hate the game, not the player.
