For those of us with students impacted immediately by these changes - I say please vote this school board out and make sure they never serve in public office again!

I've noticed that as well. Either they want to cherry-pick for Western or they are looking to call attention to the potential impact on other schools.

Some Chantilly kids would also move to Westfield under all four of the initial options presented by FCPS. Options A and B showed a net reduction of 691 to Chantilly and Options C and D showed a net reduction of 698.

Or, focusing on Westfield, Options A and B showed a net reduction of 303 to Westfield and Options C and D showed a net reduction of 238 to Westfield.

PP is cherrypicking aspects of different proposals for the new school boundaries with a different goal in mind--ideal population for the Western school-- and is not concerned about what happens at Westfield, Centreville, or Chantilly.

For those referring to Chantilly High School, the building has a design capacity of 2,316 students without the modular as per the 2026-30 CIP.

The new CIP is not publicly available yet and I don’t know what their numbers are now, but it will have more than 3 empty seats.

It would have 58 empty seats as per that CIP, as it loses 691 students and gains 45.

They added three new classrooms out of previous locker bays, and under the loss of students to Western and Westfield, might lose its modular and some trailers.

I’m sick of the lies and distortions you parents project onto us other parents, as I am a Chantilly teacher and I know my school!

Chantilly 2218 to 2215

That is three seats! Snort!

Wasn't overcrowding in Chantilly one of the reasons why the county bought Western High School?

PP is posting counts based on the Western High scenarios, which are pretty much the same for Chantilly in every option. Chantilly currently had 2900 students, so dropping to 2218 means they’d be opening far more than 3 seats overall.
Chantilly would actually drop to between 2,206-2,213 students.

Where does 2,218 come from?

How about you check your source!

I'm PP who posted the #s, not the person you're squabbling with.

I followed the same approach which FCPS has, which is based on 2024-25 enrollment numbers.

West Springfield 2791
West Potomac 2606
Robinson 2484
Woodson 2418
Westfield 2407 to 2472
Langley 2375
Fairfax 2334
Edison 2282
Hayfield 2277
Falls Church 2238
Herndon 2230
Chantilly 2218 to 2215

Annandale 2186
Oakton 2165 to 2601
Justice 2156
TJ 2111
South County 2091
Marshall 2066
South Lakes 2002 to 2410
Centreville 1957

Mount Vernon 1893
[Western] 1726 to 2142
Lewis 1632
Western should have more.

FCPS’ options for that boundary were so disappointing.

Here’s what I would do.

I would move 1005 students out of Westfield, 370 students out of South Lakes (excluding the 38 from Fox mill woods), the 351 Oak Hill students from Franklin Farm and Chantilly Highlands, and the 436 currently Oakton bound Westfield kids.

I would exclude the 7 kids off of Ashvale (that whole street is moving 12 kids to Lees Corner Anyway)

That final result is:

1005+370+436+351=2,162.

It’s 20 more than option C.

However to avoid a split feeder at Crossfield, 38 kids could move in from Fox Mill Woods from South Lakes to Western.

That final result is:

1005+408+436+351=2,200.

I like my option E with the 2,162 than my option F with the 2,200.

Their proposals have about 250 kids shifting from CVHS to Westfield. Taking 1000 out of Westfield and only adding in 250 would leave Westfield with less than 2000 students. Given that school's demographics, that's not enough students to offer a critical. number of advanced classes.
The Western Maps actually show 362 Centreville HS students moving, and an additional 340 moving from Chantilly to Westfield, but those boundaries will be finalized in June.

Try referencing other proposals before you start correcting others, honey.

Maybe make your husband dinner before you come for me.

Its WESTFIELD. No S.
If you don't even know the names of the schools, you really don't get an opinion on who goes where.
