He /Tray don’t seem predatory. Overall it seems like the church is learning, growing and unfolding…..Becoming affirming, more inclusive overall. Is there something our family is missing?

However, as a former ANC-er, the damage she did to so many people (myself included) and how she has denigrated and blasphemed the gospel - often it’s like a modern Psalm of David, asking God to topple His enemies for His name’s sake. And I consider Jen an enemy of God in so many ways. There is a *righteous* anger that is very appropriate towards Jen, Brandon, Tray, Jason Morriss, et al.
The line between schadenfreude and righteous anger is easy to blur and confession and repentance is sometimes appropriate. Which is also why I only pop on here every few months. My own sinful heart can be easily led astray.
I’m having a hard time with actual “damage done” to anyone by Jen. As a former ANCer she wasn’t a pastor or in any leadership position (that I know of). Teach from time to time? Yes. But even in that…she damaged you or others? And blasphemed? How so? By affirming gay people? Can you not just agree to disagree?
Anyway…as the old saying goes…”hell hath no fury than a corn eater scorned”
Former ANCer.
It was damaging when I devoted my time and money to a woman who wouldn’t let me use the restroom in her house and made
me drive to the gas station.
And if you’re an ANCer then you know how she treated Jackie and her bible studies.
I didn’t leave ANC because it was affirming. I left because I was treated badly.

This space exists solely for the purpose of sharing frustration, anger, and annoyance that people cannot gather and discuss any other way. It’s a modern day small town quilt circle. And people can say they’re concerned and offer prayers and dress up their posts however they want to. But at the end of the day we’re all just here for the tea and the Jen bashing.

It's not the affirmation stance that hurt so many people, although quite a few left as a result. It's that it became very evident that the Hatmakers only used ANC as a vehicle to prop up their brand. That's what it was all about. The way they *handled* the we are now affirming issue was the corruption. Not the affirmation issue itself.
Jen led the church although she wasn't on staff or was an elder and her public announcement became something that Brandon, Jason, Tray, etc. had to immediately put into place, the church itself, the elders, the opinions of probably one half or so be damned. Jen was what they needed to serve, nothing else.
