But to play in a really low bracket as the club’s A team calls into question was it the right bracket for them or just to “win” and be able to say went 4-0 at MidAtlantic. Maybe it was intentional and they needed a confidence boost. I think the convo on this thread is that it is just really hard to figure out a teams actual level or clubs level anymore before joining. Being at MidAtlantic is better than not but may not mean what it once did depending on the bracket you put yourself in.

But, yes - main point is there are two much more competitive tournaments than the one BLC promoted on social media.

Case in point BLC just posted that their 26 team is going to a tournament this weekend “NXT Level 8” that has all the best 8th grade teams from all over the country. While in fact, most of the best 26 teams will be at Mid-Atlantic (and concentrated in one bracket).
This is not a criticism of the 26 BLC team and they should play where it is a good fit for them - but why does the club post that - it is just not close to accurate. I can see that being misleading to parents of younger kids looking at clubs who don’t yet know the lay of the land.
Very good point. They also aren't even in the highest bracket of their tournament....
Agreed - they shouldn't be doing that. Signed - a parent on that team
It is a shame too because there is some talent on that team.
I can also imagine it is a bit frustrating to be traveling to just outside of Philly when the best teams will be home. Waste of financial resources for families to have to book hotels, pay for gas, etc. when the actual top tournament of the weekend is near home. Traveling this much during fall ball when you are not being recruited and there are tournaments in your backyard makes no sense.
That's not true. Mid Atlantic Showcase didn't sell out this year. Also, the best teams not going to Mid Atlantic are going to Lax for the Cure in Jersey
I am guessing there are no BLC teams in the MidAtlantic Showcase this weekend because they were either unorganized and late in requesting slots or the organizers were not interested in having them since the teams are not usually competitive, so they sign up for the lesser tournaments this weekend instead?
