DeSantis made a huge error with this little gem. Tourist money moving out of Florida. Carnival is already making moves with two other states to leave Florida ports and create new ones. Norweigan debating as well. Little issue with cruising other countries will not let Americans in without proof of being vaccinated. LOL vaccine passports to cruise.
They must have people vaccinated on those ships because as we all know illness spreads like wildfire on the ships.
So guess cruising is out unless they buy fake vaccine cards, which is so bizarre because vaccines are free. But yeah they are the brightest of our citizens, aren't they?
Since the vaccines are not meant to protect against Covid, what does it matter? The virus will still spread on the ship, like Norovirus
Matters?
1. Corporate liability someone dies on the ship.
2. Porting in other countries and disembarking not happening without a vaccine passport. These ships have to dock somewhere. itineraries, LOL this will be fun Americans and their "freedoms". Not like vaccines have not been required before. But Trumpies do their thing and ruin it for everyone. Enjoy vacations abroad people. LOL.

Her dad, my uncle, works in pathology, he told her and her sister to take this seriously and get vaccinated. Her sister went ahead and got the vaccine. Her mom, who is a crazy Trumpster conspiracy theory mongering anti vaxxer (divorced by my uncle years ago) talked her out of getting the vaccine. And now her asshole anti-vaxxer mom will likely be directly responsible for her daughter dying from COVID because he listened to mom and didn't get it instead of listening to dad and getting it.
So I have a special level of anger for idiotic anti-vaxxers. Whatever "reasons" you THINK you have for playing games and avoiding the vaccine are just plain WRONG. You ARE hurting people.
Man. That is awful. Her own mom has killed her! I'm sure it will be the "libs" fault somehow.
This is what it will be like going forward, though. Hospitals filled with Trumpers since almost all the Dems/Independents will be vaccinated.

If you’re in FCPS, what’s your medical condition going to be that allows your kids to do virtual for another year?
Sad because your kids are missing out NOW on normal school relationships. It’s great for the kids to be back and get to be with teachers and friends and all has been pretty good since March.
What is sad about DL? My kids really enjoy it and like the flexibility. They interact with their friends and teachers and its not an issue. They are flexible and adaptable and are glad they can stay home with covid. I don't want mine with other kids as none are vaccinated and most people are living their lives as normal which puts my kids at risk of covid.
This exactly.

That's fine, but you should get therapy for your "what if" issue. Worry anxiety is actually the easiest type to treat. Being free of anxiety is good for your health and may keep you out of the hospital.
Huh? I lost two family members that contracted covid in the hospital. There is nothing " what if" about it. Watch out for yourself. The vaccine is not a big deal... really it is not...and you will likely have a good level of protection from this nasty virus and also offer protection to others.
I'm sure they were in their 20s or 30s and had no previous history.
Getting the vaccine is really not a big deal and it is quite protective. Do you understand that it does not just protect you? The evidence is mounting that it sharply suppresses transmission rates so you are offering protection to vulnerable people who are mainly older and sicker...but not always.
Unvaxxers are pigs who only care about themselves.
Wow, just wow. No, the pigs are people who only care about themselves and send their kids to school in person, doing things like travel sports, socializing, dining out and travel and refuse to adjust their behavior and lifestyle during a pandemic.
Most people are fully vaccinated outside of this vaccine. It is not fully approved and experimental. It is reasonable to have concerns or to wait to see the long term outcome.
I don't care about hospitalizations or deaths. I care about community spread but without universal testing, especially at schools, we'll never fully know given people can be asymptomatic.
I took the vaccine but I will hold off on my kids as they are home/not traveling or socializing and we don't know the long term outcomes.
And, for those talking about hospitalizations and deaths, we've had many deaths from people like me who will not do in person doctors or go to the ER with a health emergency because of covid. I should have been hospitalized this past year and refused given I'd rather deal with my health issues and suffer than catch covid. If people behaved responsibly we could have limited covid and people like me could have gotten the health care we needed.
You have warped thinking. Staying home forever was not sustainable.
Only getting the vaccine out to everyone is.
No one is talking about forever. It is until its under control. There is zero reason outside work, child care and essentials we cannot stay home like other countries did. You have a warped thinking if you can name call those who don't take the vaccine but are not willing to also stay home to help stop the spread. Our kids still aren't vaccinated and we have a duty to protect them. Likewise, the vaccine has only been released to everyone for 3 weeks so instead of being hostile give people a chance to get it. Its only in the past few days has it become easier to get it.
The vaccine is not going to fully stop all the variants and we still needs responsible behavior.
You should try it and set a good example for your kids. They will learn from our behavior on how they should handle things as adults and right now many are raising another selfish generation, which is sad.
DP. Vaccine refusers are by far the selfish ones.
No, they aren't. The vaccines don't even have full government approval. Why is it so hard to change your behavior during a health pandemic? That is selfish.
Everyone should continue to keep safe as our kids aren't vaccinated. You may not care about your children's health but I care about mine. Us, as adults being vaccinated means nothing and nothing changes in our home till our kids are vaccinated and we know that it works against the new strains as well.
You are ridiculous. How you think you can spin not getting vaccinated as being somehow virtuous is amazing. I have stayed home. My kids are still not in school buildings. My elderly father has been isolated for over a year because of this. I missed my grandmother’s funeral, and my mother had to grieve for her alone. No, zoom isn’t the same.
My family is still following CDC guidelines. Which, btw, include getting vaccinated when the vaccine is available to you.
My 13 year old will get the shot ASAP. Trying to get into a trial for my 9 year old.
Pfizer will apply for full approval later this month and they’ll have it shortly after. What will be your excuse then?
People weren't allowed at funerals, but could go to Walmart. Makes a lot of sense. Don't blame PP- blame whoever implemented these nonsensical approaches.
DP. All of that doesn't change the fact that antivaxxers and vaccine refusers are deeply immoral people.
Deeply immoral has nothing to do with vaccines. It has to do with concern for the greater good. If you are regularly going to Target or Walmart or shopping outside groceries and essentials, that would be immoral. If you are eating out at restaurants, traveling and socializing in large groups or with multiple others, that is immoral. The virus can only spread if we give it hosts. How we get rid of covid is vaccines and behavior. And, sadly behavior will help stop the new variants but most adults don't care and are behaving poorly so we'll need regular boosters as well.
These vaccines are not designed to stop covid. They are designed to lessen the symptoms for the individual.
