yeah well who isn't? Not that tough really. A little compacted math and some more in-depth type assignments than regular school and that's about it.
Was happy my kid got in, but DC reports to me it isn't nearly as challenging as was expected.
I have heard they don't boot anyone out, so once you're in your in regardless if whether the kid excels or not.

If a child had high test scores but a moderate or low recommendation and average classwork they might be denied on the assumption that their test scores are not an accurate representation of their ability.

I do see your point however, in my case, DC was not prepped in anyway and the teacher was wrong. DC is excelling at the AAP center this year.

I got a letter that my son got into the screening pool. I referred to certain instances of people telling me that their kid got high scores and yet they dint get into the level IV program to my friend ( who was a FCPS elementary teacher). she said honestly, we would want to make it look that it is all an overall count of school work, GBRS etc . But we can't definitely deny a kid with such high scores. Most parents think that its a shame that their kid did not make it to the pool and they convince poeple that the school referral is the reason. But It is not entirely true. Even with a kid with low scores get it if the kid is found to have the potential to think outside the box. But never a kid with high scores was denied.
I am not sure who to trust at this point. I can say for sure what is going on only if I was in the screening committee.
They can deny a kid with high scores due to subjective GBRS scores. I personally went through it.
