While the Ukraine conversation does have political hijinks, I’m suspect in trial in can be papered over as ferreting out corruption with help from overseas. I suspect it was actually a setup and that’s how the CIA analyst even got the transcript; he wanted to goad the Dems to impeach him before election, trial ends with no removal, his base is energized and coasts into reelection. And is then impeachment proof for his second term. (And beyond... who knows)
No president has ever been removed from office. No way in hell are the Republicans let them be the first.
Please. Trump isn't playing 9D chess. He's barely able to walk and talk, let alone string together a coherent sentence.
Impeachment isn't a trap. It's the right thing to do.

Speaking on background to a Republican congressional source who has direct knowledge of the whistleblower report, he says it is really bad. He says the GOP can attack it as partisan because, in his words, “this is written by someone who does not like the President” but also that “regardless, the whistleblower is credible.”
According to the source, the report “paints a clear path to impeachment” with enough information that Democrats will be able to make appropriate document requests and subpoena witnesses for a focused effort.
“I wasn’t happy with the transcript, but it was Trump. What do you expect? Now we are dealing with something that looks like it could be outside the bounds of acceptable conduct.”
The source said he would not be definite, but it fully opens up a path for a thorough and focused impeachment process.

Senate won’t vote to convict.
There will be cracks. The known facts are enough for the American public to understand. if the reactions to the whistleblower claims are accurate there is no way the GOP will hold on this. Pence is complicit too. Barr, Mulvaney, Giuliani, Pompeo likely have grave liability as well.
Sure, because the Dems are going to be able to pull off an entire impeachment process, vote on it, convince enough GOP to vote for them in the Senate and put the impeachment on the floor for a vote in the Senate in the span of about 10-11 months. Oh yeah, there's still Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, plus all of the potential weeks off that the House and Senate won't be in session.
Epic disaster for the Dems. And they'll get blamed for tanking the stock market and everyone's 401ks too.
Republicans took about four months to impeach Clinton. When there’s a will there’s a way. And boy, do we have the will.

They have no choice. They swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.
Oh yes, because there is NO other choice except to do what the democrats and insane liberals want to do.
Trump is soliciting foreign aid to interfere with the election, and putting that country in grave danger. That's insane.

He might be impeached in the House before the end of September. Or step down before then.
This is moving fast. Hold onto your hat.
