Loudoun pretty much calls your player out. Just some helpful advice!!
To those in the know-have the VDA players at the ID sessions agreed to make the switch to FCV? I would imagine they are the bench players at VDA or why would they want to leave? Promise of greater college exposure?
They are not 3 bench players from VDA. Yes, it would shake up the current 06 team, but iron sharpens iron. Need to trim the fat every now and then.

Not a fan of how they operate but have to admit it’s an impressive record. If your goal is to play in college
This.
And so does McLean:

Bethesda:

FCV is not the only club that can get your kid into college. Clubs in the area and across the nation do it every year.
What about VDA Loudoun BRYC Arlington and MU? The list shrinks at those places quite significantly. McLean and Bethesda also have one other thing in common...you guys can figure that one out - rich families with alumni at top academic schools. Not criticizing, just pointing it out.
You are also looking at kids committing on teams that were established 4-6 years ago. When McLean, FCV, Bethesda were the only real pathway options. That is not where the market stands right now. There are lots of kids spread out at various clubs now. There isn't a single club that can claim a concentration of all the talent from 06- rising 08 moving forward.
I keep hearing that but it never comes to fruition. Last year we heard about it for the the 04 and 05 and turns out that, around here, FCV and Arlington are likely going to be clearly the best 04 and 05 teams around when it is all said and done. Both DA teams.

Ummm, ok. In that case the move from Loudoun to the older FCV NPL team was a step down, considering even Loudoun ECNL > NPL and FCV PT DA is essentially a carrot to keep parents paying, as you mentioned.
She's on ECNL RL (used to be VPL apparently) which we didn't even know happened until they handed us ECNL patches after a game one day... It was odd, but we rolled with it since DD was practicing PT with DA anyway (she wants to play HS ball and swims - so has no intention of FT GDA whatsoever). We moved from Loudoun solely because of the training. Can't speak for 05 ECNL at Loudoun, but we hear just as many complaints about their program as FCV DA (at least 07, 06, and 05 levels). And nope - don't pay $$$ for DA training, and we don't have a carpool either.
That makes sense. You are aware that the ECNL regional patch doesn't really mean anything, right? As long as you are comfortable in the fact that 99% of kids rostered as PT at FCV will never sniff the DA field in a meaningful way, you should be fine. There are folks here who want their kids to have good chances to play in showcases but it's clear you aren't one of them, which is OK. For any gripes about Loudoun or other true ECNL programs, those kids will get many. many more looks than the FCV 2nd team.
We know absolutely nothing about "Regional League" for ECNL. And she wants to play HS so DA isn't important, just the training (which is why we switched). We have played in three showcases, so not sure what that means? She's in 8th grade, so not super worried about college looks until next year.

Promise of more playing time at FCV. Breaking into the starting 11 at VDA 06 is not in the cards. FCV can move 3 from the current team to NPL.
