In this thread accusations were made about AOC growing up in luxury and her family being set for life when in fact all her mom could afford from a lifetime of hard work and savings was a tiny 860 square foot fixer-upper house in a neighborhood riddled with drug dealers in a meh part of Florida. Certainly not even remotely the lap of luxury. I guess she should have instead been living in a cardboard refrigerator box to satisfy the jerks and to not have them call her a hypocrite.
Mamma can’t live in a gentrifying neighborhood?

Another - she continues to take regular plane flights to and from her home in NY, despite the fact that a train is available. Her reasoning - she can save her constituents 2 hours of her time.
This is a BS response for someone who would like to make plane travel unnecessary and make rail the travel of the future.
Our high speed rail is not yet anywhere near on par with what it is in other countries. And you can usually find cheaper airfare from DC to NY than you can comparable Accela tickets. Or, save $30 but now that trip's taking twice as long via regional rail. So, logistics.
She wants to fix our rail system so that we at least have more, better and more affordable high speed rail. We just aren't there yet. This is not hard stuff to understand. Stop being obtuse.

It’s cool, I always fly between DC and NY too. I don’t give a f!$/ if the environment burns so long as I save 2 hours.
I am a hardcore Republican Trump voter and NRA Lifetime Member. AOC and I really aren’t so different. I’m cool with her.

Didn't she get 7-figures from netflix for rights to her story/campaign? She's rich, so no need to live like a serf. But it's just her pretending that bothers me. Like cooking on instagram, then being so awkward doing it that it was obvious she never cooks (read: spends massive sum eating out every day, while pretending to be a poor bartender).
