It was equal parts sad and funny.
After we passed, I explained to my kids that the person was suffering from severe mental health issues and was homeless, etc.
With the proper context, anyone can understand.
I think it’s baffling to be upset with a person with TS for anything that comes out of their mouth once you understand how their condition works.

But here, his brain IS processing. His brain is assessing the situation and finding the most offensive slur for a particular person. Even if he cannot control the actual muscles in his mouth to keep it in, it does seem like there’s intent on the part of his brain.

They were asked by the organizers to present an award, only to face racial slurs when appearing on stage. You could see the hurt on their faces after the n word was yelled at them. The organizers of the event did nothing to apologize to them. The host issued a throwaway apology “IF you were offended.”
It has to be humiliating for them. The broadcasters had two hours to remove the racial slur before the event was televised, but did nothing. That movement will forever be on the internet.
The man who used the slur has issued nothing but a series of self-serving statements to promote his movie. People are making a bunch of excuses for him and behaving as if he is the victim. I’m not sure he’s not racist. He yells generic profanity at white people, yet yells the n word as soon as he sees a black person - he yelled the same slur at the Sinners production designer upon seeing her at the dinner. It’s shameful that he has not apologized for the hurt he has caused.
You are so shockingly unaware of how his condition works and yet the internet gives you a place to spew your nonsense for free. Enjoy your stupidity I guess.
Why does he yell common swear words at white people yet yell racial slurs at black people? The N word is way more offensive than telling people to F off. He yelled this slur at two black men on stage and a black woman production designer trying to enjoy the dinner after the show.
