It is almost like this is not about the girls development but the coach W and trophy chasing. A true ECNL Girls Director would put kids in their recruitment year and brave parents would band together to push for that

Band together and threaten to do what exactly? Move to a GA team? Lol. Not happening. There are only three ECNL clubs here and one (FVU) is a joke. We parents have zero leverage. Not to mention that the coach actually gets results in recruiting… Things will work out just fine. It’s been made clear that parent tantrums will not be tolerated which I as a parent appreciate! No favoritism to the loudest mouth.

I think this is a fair assessment. The weather delays (gratefully) took the air out of this stupid early try out season. More moves have been made mid season than for next year. And for the 2014s, you guys are an anomaly. Keep your kid showing up. If you feel like they got overlooked and really can keep up ask to attend a training in April or May, or join the USL--Y team.

VDA is poorly managed. Before registering, do yourself a favor and ask about their roster size. They seem more focused on constantly recruiting new players than developing the ones they already have, which raises serious concerns about their confidence in their coaching and player development.

They are not “trapped” as in they are in the 2030 grad year and are 8th graders. ECNl is not going by graduation year but by Aug 1 - July 31. Current VDA 2011s have like 8-10 players who are born August 2011-December 2011 and so they’re likely moving “down.”

Definitely a lot are not 2030 grad year. So we
Don’t know what was going on. It seems premeditated session already.

Teams are not organized by grad year. They’re organized by birthday.

The good outside players were there FYI. There was close to 40 players, 30 or so are wearing VDA training gear.

Predicting record roster sizes that clubs attribute to the uncertainty on how the age group changes will affect the game.
U13-u14 averaging 20
U15-16 averaging 24
U 17-19 26-28
