I assure you that if my sister was a national celebrity, ensuring that this story would explode in the media, and our mother was violently dragged from her home and now missing, it would not take me “Monday and Tuesday” to set up “back up plans” at home. I would be there in a second. Something is off here.

How does having a national celebrity sister prevent him from potentially setting back up plans for his own family?

Does NOT mean it is true. But the rumors are very strong & all in one direction.

Does anyone actually know the son in law personally? What is he like? And is he really stupid enough to think he could pull this off without getting caught?

Brian Entin and others reporting heavy FBI and police presence back at both the daughter's house and the mother's house. Crime scene tape back up at mom's house, and dogs are out to do a search.

That might account for the blood droplets at front door - with Nancy's frail, elderly skin, just bumping her arm or leg into something would cause a cut if she were being carried out.

I was thinking the same. Seems it would take a really strong male to carry, drag, or manhandle her all the way out of the house and into a vehicle? I honestly don’t know. Would more likely require 2 people. She weighs 150lbs.

Or threaten her with a gun or knife and out of fear she walks out on her own.

Sort of puzzling that the elderly mom lived alone in what appears to be a lavish house (??) while the BIL and sister are driving an old crossover worth maybe 8 grand? With a sister worth 50 million??!

IF someone thought they could get a sizeable ransom for her but didn't want to commit murder, all they would have to do is lure her out of the house on some pretext and into a car.

If they were REAL insiders, they would also know that she needs her medication and may have stolen/taken some over a period of time to have on hand for just this purpose.

She may be sitting in some windowless room somewhere but is being cared for and medicated as needed.

If the ransom demand doesn't work out, they will figure out a way to drop her off somewhere.

What I don't understand is - who in her orbit would be truly stupid enough to think that they would actually get away with this?

I mean, we could all make a list of the stupid crimes people have committed in this category:

Nancy Kerrigan attack
Gloria Vanderbilt kidnapping
Charles Lindbergh baby kidnapping and murder.

You’re missing the point. None of these crimes was committed by a family member or someone close to the victim.

None of this personal family stuff (whether you like them, when they got married and to whom, etc.) has any relevance to the fact that a poor woman was taken against her will and her family does not know if they will ever see her again.

Also I just saw that her brother just arrived in town today. That seems odd to me.

You have no idea why, and its rude to speculate. Think for 2 seconds about reasons that would keep him away... on a very personal level. FWIW, He is a retired F-16 pilot who served 26 years in the Natl Guard.

Yes, why did it take him so long to get his a$$ to AZ?

He is in the Vermont Air National Guard. Could be he was on an assignment somewhere and it took him time to get there.

+1

Also, you really never know what is going on in people’s lives. I think he is 50ish years old. I don’t know much about him, but seems likely he has his own family. Maybe his wife (or he, himself) recently had surgery or illness, something serious going on with a young adult child etc. Who knows. Sometimes a bunch of things happens all at once. My mom died of cancer, DH’s sister died of cancer, and DH’s mom fell and broke her hip- all in one year. They all love a plane flight away, and we had 3 school aged kids at the time. We coordinated with siblings and did our best. Hard to judge without knowing details but it is not that weird.

And he has two sisters who have been present in Tucson.
