They have MLSN 2 already starting this year it’s not crazy to think they won’t have MLSN 3 for 26/27?
MLSN has not decided yet. As of now they are still planning on staying BY. Will probably follow ECNL lead and run a little U9 pre MLSN league.
They will definitely have MLSN 1,2,3 that will happen. Same thing with Pre little league. They will have relegation and tournaments for all teams.
They don't have the capacity for any of that. They aren't even running MLSN2. They can barely run MLSN1.

They are working on building it out. Give it 2-3 years and it will all be in place. A full relation for non academy teams with multiple levels to move up and down. They will also have a pre MLSN league with levels as well.
This seems more like a dream rather than actual reality. Also don’t think they have 2-3 years to roll it out, would have to be ready to go next year.

This is from US soccer website it says the mandate was removed late 2024? Does that mean clubs and leagues can change as early as they want?
No. If you keep reading the press release it says: "Again, please note that this decision is effective beginning with each Organization Member’s 2026-27 season/registration year."

In sorta fairness, THEY could outside the academy teams, especially as they build out a pipeline with multiple levels. It would be better developmentally -- for any of these alphabet soup groups -- IF they could have multiple levels so that the age groups could move within them based on how they do on the field rather that which club they are in with some obviously stuck above their level.

That’s what BY did in 2017? Look at most teams and they are heavily Jan to July players. When you have a one year calendar and biobanding it doesn’t really matter what date you choose.
It will always be front loaded with the oldest kids and you can always bioband down the younger kids to age group below.
I think parents see it as a bigger deal than MLSN does.
