To the other poster I don't have a source for no RIFs; however they are dismantling an office and rather than RIFing those people like other agencies have done they are reassigning them. Obviously there are never any guarantees but that practice strongly suggests they don't intend to RIF.
I also dont know the target but clearly with a hiring freeze + natural attrition they are intending to shrink at least a little further. By the way that may not be PAs call, could be a DOGE call.
Do the people in the affected office know yet that it’s going to be dismantled? Can you give a hint which office?
