I'm wondering if the intruder disconnected the alarm system? Otherwise, ours would be incredibly loud once a door was opened or a glass was broken.
Nothing makes much sense. That's why I'd like to see the video released. Unless they have no cameras running?
The man thought he was Jesus, according to his ex.
You are not entitled to see video of the assault. Believe whatever you want to believe. You will anyway.
I don't believe one way or the other. What I'm seeing is a story where the details keep shifting. The audio recording conflicts with the statement. Then they retracted their statement that someone opened the door that clearly wasn't the Pelosi or his attacker, because both had their hands on the same hammer. Pelosi was able to take a bathroom break and use his phone in the bathroom. He could have simply told the police there was an intruder in the house, but he said it was a friend, David. He must have sounded confused because they did a wellness check. At his age, he very well could have been confused, and that's just fine. The important thing is the police got to the scene on time. People are asking to see footage because of all the changes to the details of what happened.
Either way, his neighbors and his Ex-Wife have made it perfectly clear that the man was decidedly mentally unwell. People here want to state that he is mentally well but being MAGA makes him mentally unwell. That''s, well, insaneHe's mentally unwell because he thinks he's Jesus and talks to angels, etc. The media seems to want to ignore that fact. Inconvenient? I don't know.
Again, what entitles you have access to the video? The police have it. The guys lawyer will have it. The prosecutor will have it. This isn’t a TV show scripted for your entertainment. It looks like the guy broke in, went looking for Nancy. Paul P woke up. The guy didn’t attack right away. He asked where’s Nancy? PP talked to him, was able to call police, tried to keep him calm until the cops got there. The cops coming in may have triggered the guy to go for the hammer and he hit Paul with it. We don’t need to know every detail. We know there was a break-in and an assault and who was the intruder/assailant and who was the victim.
I didn’t say I was entitled. I said it would help clear up what happened. What you state happened is what you are being told happened, but again, that story has changed three times so far at the very least. Imagine this was George Floyd and you just had to take the police version of what happened, that there was no video of any kind. Imagine if we were told as a nation that we were not entitled to see that, that you don’t need to know every detail.
It’s extremely clear what happened. Only MAGA are questioning what happened! You are all so looped into conspiracy theories that you are incapable of seeing reality.
If its so obvious, there is no reason to hide the bodycam/security cam/dashcam footage.
We can also explain how he got to the house.
So if your house gets broken into, you think the public has a right to see the video from inside the house, even before it's submitted for evidence in a trial? We can all just check you out?
If my house getting broken into becomes and the focal point of a nationwide slander attempt with my surrogates claiming its a politically motivated assassination attempt right before an election, and I don't do anything to tamp that down right quick, then yes. There are all sorts of people who could clarify the situation with a word or the stroke of a pen, but do not want that to happen.

[i]… David DePape, 42, also published hundreds of blog posts in recent months sharing memes in support of fringe commentators and far-right personalities. Many of the posts were filled with screeds against Jews, Black people, Democrats, the media and transgender people.
He published a drawing of the Devil kneeling and asking a caricature of a Jewish person to teach him the arts of “lying, deception, cheating and incitement.” Several contain lifelike images of rotting human flesh and blood, including a zombified Bill Gates and Hillary Clinton. Others depict headless bodies against bleak, dystopian landscapes.

A deranged man committed an act of political violence, likely as a result of a discourse and culture (promoted mostly on the right), that promotes it. It’s a tragedy. Paul Pelosi is still in the ICU three days later. And Republicans like Don Jr and Ted Cruz are making a mockery because they’re terrible people.

It happened weeks before the election, "right before" is debatable. While we don't know if it was politically motivated, we must look at the facts of what has happened prior. The GOP wanted to attack Nancy Pelosi on 1/6. Here's an article outlining the GOP rhetoric around Pelosi, starting with "In 2009, the Republican National Committee ran an advertisement featuring Ms. Pelosi’s face framed by the barrel of a gun — complete with the sound of a bullet firing as red bled down the screen..." https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/30/us/politics/pelosi-attack-republican-threats.html

Right? This was part of the plan. The insurrectionists broke into the capitol building with zipties, yelling "Where's Pelosi". What were they going to do once they had Pelosi in the zipties? Tickle her to death?
I'm sure they would've preferred that Nancy Pelosi was the one this guy tried to murder and not the husband.
