Not surprised. I live in an affluent neighborhood and there are quite a few women who do not know a single person in the neighborhood or socialize at all. I think they mostly socialize online.

It's really simple. If Elon Musk wants us to have more kids, MAKE IT EASIER FOR US.

It was so incredibly hard (every day every minute) to have young children while holding down a job, doing about 80% of the house stuff, and carrying 90% of the mental load. I would have loved to have had more then the two children I have. But until men step the f up at home, women will opt out.

Wages don't grow. Housing is completely unaffordable. Childcare costs are insane. Healthcare is ludicrous. Even if you had kids, stupid minivan to haul them around to soccer practice now costs $40k. And don't even talk about college costs....

You want to die in poverty? Have a kid.

Younger generations didn't create these problems. They're the ones that have to live with them though. The only solution is to not have kids just so that you can keep your financial head above water.

It's not money, it's decades of Hollywood and feminist propaganda. It's "cool" and "sophisticated" and "worldly" to piss away your prime fertility years living in the big city and traveling and waiting two hours to be seated for a hip brunch and rising the ladder at your make-work career, so you can piss more money away on shoes, travel, and instagram-worthy furniture. #GirlBoss #LeanIn

Oooooo the anti-brunch guy is back!!! I missed you and your rants against women going to brunch!!!

Is it really a dude? Gross.

I assumed it was a cranky old religious hag.

I'm not a "dude" or a "hag". I'm in my mid 40s, married, mother of three, one grandchild, a meaningful career, and all of my children attended top 25 universities. Play coy that being a wine or martini drunk, and wasting weekends away shopping and brunching weren't a "thing" for women over the last two decades. It's basically the premise of SATC. Waste your 20s and 30s and you'll land a Mr Big. Fertility? Don't worry about it! Have hedonistic fun! Millions of women who should have been married and having babies were wasting their lives on nothing. Pointless consumerism, and now, nothing to show for it. No heirs, no legacy, nobody will remember them. Genetic dead ends. Never mind end of life, imagine being stricken with an illness in your 30s 40s 50s and no husband or children to help. Or a husband who is exponentially more likely to leave you because he has no children with you. Never experiencing the joys of grandchildren. It's terribly sad how many women were conned.

I’d choose remaining single and going to martini brunches, buying consumer goods and traveling over turning into someone who posts something like this on the internet.

You can’t be that successful if you’re in your 40s with a grandkid. I’m not sure you’d be able to relate or even understand a woman who is single and enjoying a nice lifestyle in a big city.

Makes sense to me. I’m happily married and love my kids. But I would absolutely enjoy a childfree life. I enjoy traveling, hobbies and my career. I don’t need kids or a husband to enjoy life.

The PP who bash single women and their lifestyle must have never lived a great enough life to appreciate that you really can enjoy life without a spouse and kids. If you’re truly happy and have a lot going for you, you don’t need a spouse and kids to live a fulfilling life.

If I couldn’t find a quality man I would absolutely choose my high earning job and a more hedonistic lifestyle than settling down with just anyone.

It became extremely common in the last couple of decades, including multiple times on Sex and the City. And then women wonder why 'peter pan' men won't commit—why buy the cow when you get the milk for free.

Sex and the City mainstreamed and glamorized shacking up to the masses. Additionally, it was subversive in making the conservative waspy gal, Charlotte's, life implode for only moving in after marriage and a full commitment. She was boring and safe and the marriage was awful. All the older millennials and Gen Xers emulated the other iconic characters, they were such fun and edgy feminist rebels. Now the lucky ones have one or two IVF babies, while many remain unmarried and childless. Quite sad how destructive pop culture can be.

If you truly thought that childless women were tragic, you wouldn't be so angry at them. If you're happy with your choices and feel sorry for women who made different one, why the nastiness?

+1, is it because you opted out of a career you care about and feel bored? You can still do something, what is your dream?

The vast majority of posters on this thread are mothers, you just ignore every one of them because they don't fit your agenda.

Yea, what a weird response. Every woman here has said they waited until 30s/40s and were able to have kids. Not sure where PP is getting “barren women” from.
