While the judge ruled in favor of the defense in not allowing the video interview of the child of Branden, and Christine Banfield today. All other rulings were in favor of the Prosecution. The judge found NO wrong doing or conflicts what so ever of the Prosecuting Attorney Eric Clingan, and that he would NOT be removed by the court. She also found any motions attempting to suggest impropriety on the part of the Fairfax County police having no grounds or merit and publicly stated as much, and in each motion sided with the prosecution and police. The only wins so far on the part of the defense is that the child's taped interview is not allowed but that she can be called as a witness but in closed video future testimony. Also that police and defense must disclose anything they have not already. This ruling is not damning to the police or prosecution and is considered a standard ruling. So far all the conspiracies brought up by the defense have failed.
May friends and family of the actual victims Christine and Joe feel secure in these rulings and the Judge's public statements thus far, and hope for the justice they deserve for their loved ones, at least when it comes to Brandon and his trial moving forward.

“ Police quickly concluded the 1995 killing of Donnah Winger was a tragic incident, committed at the hands of a seemingly mentally unwell driver who'd once driven her home from the airport.
It was an earth-shattering tragedy for Donnah's family and Winger went on to marry the beautiful young nanny that he'd hired to care for his and his late wife's recently adopted newborn. He then had three more children with her in the following years.”
This is a very different story. Why bring up a story that is NOT this story when they are NOT the same? The deaths of Christine and Joe are totally unique individuals. This is not a copy cat situation in the least.
He murdered his wife and a guy that he tried to frame for attacking her and married the nanny. The only real difference is the nanny in this case was hired after the wife was murdered and that he got away with it for a lot longer.
There are MANY different differences, and in this case the nanny helped him carry out a very planned murder. This case has very elaborate catfishing that has taken place. The day of the murders differ in every way. This is not a copycat, but if you need to think it is you can, but don’t lead this discussion into another case as it deflects from the impact of this case and sullies the lives of the victims in both cases. It is not helpful, and it’s clouding this case by tossing the cases together in some odd ways that doesn’t do justice to any of the victims. It sensationalizes murder in general. Let each case have the impact it should for all the victims and their families.

That officer was transferred and a supervisor admitted in court he told that officer he would never work forensics again. I have a lot of faith in Fairfax police but they really stepped in it here
