I was rewatching the “The West Wing” episode last night wherein POTUS Martin Sheen tells Alan Alda and Jimmy Smits, Republican and Democratic presidential candidates, that Sheen just invaded Kazakhstan with 5,000 troops with an escalation to 175k troops to bring about peace and some other high and mighty bull. Sheen was in his last days of potus and the winner of the upcoming election would inherit this military operation. Alda asked what was the cost and Sheen said about 70billion dollars and it could last for several years. Without blinking, both Alda and Smits’ gave crestfallen looks and Alda said, there goes my tax cuts, and to Smits he said, there goes all of your hopes and dreams for increase education and job training.
