Reguarding MLSN p2p switching to SY. The ONLY reason I can see it happening is to make it easy for clubs to switch from ECNL to MLSN/GA.

Mlsn goes sy:
-no change in status quo, they remain top landing spot for top talent
-international team is a player pool, not like they train together year round.
-most international play has spots to bring kids down (mic 3 spots)
Mlsn stays by:
-Time will tell how much, but the needle absolutely shifts to ecnl. At the very least they become a landing spot for top August-December kids. This takes 5 months of their talent pool and for what? What do they gain by staying by?
-short run they lose q4 talent not currently featured in mlsn. The 2014’s also go into it unaffected since they’re coming from by system. Wouldn’t surprise me if mlsn announces their changing but not until 27/28
-long run there’s major issues not being aligned with their feeder leagues. Flipping the rae is going to make the q4’s more sought after but having to go from u12 to u14 is going to funnel them right to Ecnl. Top clubs in my area are staying by, but these are clubs that have to win. Big question is whether or not those top teams/players can survive playing up and make it to mlsn doing so.
This is about right. P2P will go SY. I don’t see why waiting an extra year helps them.
The first batch of u12 that have to skip u13 doesn’t happen until 27/28
They would skip u12, go from u11 8/1 to u13 1/1. Of course any aug-dec birthday coming from outside of mlsnext between u13-u17 would skip an age group to do so.
You’re right it’s u12 not u13. But that misalignment doesn’t happen until 27/28
