Lots of telling parents things but not including them in the process or even considering their thoughts. Makes me wonder why we pay the money we do for these coaches to do whatever they want.

So they’re improving - but will the team be better or worse when that happens? You mention it’s unfortunate for the boys being cut but are they better players than the ones coming in? Are you upset that they’re making the team worse or that this one kid you describe as B level will still be there and should be among the cuts?
Quite upset the kid is only there cause of the parent knowing the coach. The boy was never on the best team at the many previous club's he was on and now he's on the highest level team not because of his ability but because of this connection. It sucks for the kids and McLean for players who have the skills, but being removed because of the relationship.
Sounds like at best one kid is getting cut to keep this kid, or maybe he’s one of the many dual rostered and rarely plays, but those recruiting efforts have raised the bar and brought in more talent.
No, that kid will still get PT even though he sucks ass but his parent has the connection with the coach.
But his friends are good? No issue with their talent level?

Not that I'm aware of, but I know the coaching staff are meeting with existing ECNL players letting them know whether they're likely to be on the team or not.
Half of my DS's ECNL team is mostly being cut. What sucks for the boys getting cut is that there are boys on the team that are only there cause the parent and coach know each other from outside the club and it seems this parent has some kind of control over the coach. Kid has probably B team skills at most. This parent has also introduced other players to the coach over this last year which the coach has them working out with team and will eventually bring them on. Don't know what the rules are around that but shady for sure. Good thing these clubs don't get audited for their business practices. It's unfortunate but players or families don't have a say in it. The coach basically controls everything and if you're out of line as a parent the repercussions are taken out on the player.
if the kid is that good, they can try out for another ECNL team. If you think half a team is getting cut to appease parents of B level players and their friends, you probably also believe every game DS lost was due to biased refs
I know for a fact boys will be cut to bring on these players that were introduced by coach's friend. Clear as day but club can get away with whatever they want. Personally, I don't care my DS was told he will most likely be on the team but we're also looking at other options since we don't live in Mclean and probably time to look at VDA or other clubs in that area. I think what's being done is unfortunate since the team was getting better.
