This. It’s so easy to see what’s coming down the pike and I am eternally grateful my kids will be done with FCPS before then.
Prediction: people will stop being mad at the Langley boundaries and instead whine and complain about all the people in GF who send their kids to private school.
And the school board and Fairfax County will start buzzing about how to block this by thinking they can make public services contingent on public school attendance.
That would be something.
It's always amusing when people admit that they have to force people into participating because they are offering an inferior experience.

My parents are included in this and they vote every election. It sucks but they could care less about the schools and that's mainly because of awareness. They don't have children in school and same with their friends. I think if campaigns targeted this demographic more then you'd see better outcomes.
And, they don't pay attention to School Board. Many are just anti-Trump and voted straight Dem because of that.
I'd be willing to bet that most did not know the policies of the Dem candidate for Commonwealth Attorney, as well as those of SB members.
Do they know that Abrar is in favor of removing "the cream of the crop" from Langley? Getting rid of pupil placement for IB or AP because it is racist?

How many just looked at Abrar and gave her the “I’m not a racist” vote? Consider what shallow thinkers they are.
I don't think most people have even seen a photo, they just voted the ticket, which is their right.

When your candidates are a bunch of Trumpists, don’t be surprised when anti-Trump voters reject them.
You just made my point! Voters did not even know the policies of those running.
And, FWIW, the candidate running for Commonwealth Atty against the Dem was an Independent. He was endorsed by the former Commonwealth Atty who was a Dem.

own system. There is nothing good for Mclean residents in One Fairfax. So many in my neighborhood voted dem and they are clueless. The will figure this out too late. Time also to have school board members with kids currently enrolled. Not interested in hearing school board members whose kids graduated never went.
Actually, every single precinct in McLean, whether zoned for Langley, McLean, or Marshall, voted primarily for the Democratic candidates, so you are out of sync. You might move to Great Falls, where there is more sympathy for your griping, but of course you’d have to build several new schools - $$$$.
