Lucky Mclean ….

McLean has the worst coaching revolving door in all of VA - that is why they are hated. The few coaches that they keep on the payroll, other then CW, are there because no other club will touch them. Jaon Ahmad is a coach in McLean.
What is up with you people. Isn't the head women's coach of Howard and last year's girls youth coach of the year both at McLean. Didn't Mclean just send more of its teams to nationals than any other ECNL team on the east coach other than PDA.
Damn people, I am not a McLean parent but your post scream jealousy and sour grapes. Get a life.
Agreed. I think there's two to three people doing all the hate posting on all these topics. Some dude in a basement with a blowup doll and a wipe off rag.

All joking aside, if soccer helps a kid get into an Ivy for college, then it will also have indirectly helped a kid get into a grad school, assuming the kid is an above average student in undergrad. Not to be captain obvious, but it's much easier to get into a top 20 grad school if you had a 3.7 at an Ivy, than a 3.7 at Penn State, for example.
Somewhat true but nobody who makes hiring or admissions decisions trusts ivy gpas anymore. 3.7 is average or slightly below average at a lot of top schools, and believe me, it is not because everybody is performing so brilliantly. I would take a higher-level athlete with a comparable GPA in a real major at a good state school. Especially if the sport demanded more time, like basketball. And I would definitely prefer to hire a state school division I athlete with a 3.5 over a grind with an average gpa at an ivy.

So people resort to ‘your patch changed’ or ‘you have a practice at STJ’ or ‘coaches are mean’.
Just sour grapes and everyone knows it.
