Heard the 08G at the very least are bringing their entire Red team. SYC added a “black” team to the coaching slate specifically for this reason.

Looks like nobody came over from LMVSC to coach a second team (Orange team). Here's some real talk: if your kid isn't already on a given coach's team (meaning that they are right now at LMVSC), and you're sitting at SYC with your kid on a Blue (1st) team thinking about how lucky you are that you're getting a new coach, prepare to be disappointed. The incoming coach of the 2003, 2004, 2005 boys teams carries at least 20 players on his roster. If only, say, 12 per team with him then that means that half of the SYC blue teams (assuming a roster of 16-18 players) is getting the axe. 12 per team might be on the low end. I've heard that the 2006 and 2007 boys red teams are also looking to switch clubs. That'll be more of a mess, because it seems like a lot of SYC players are going the other way.

Bottom line: the coaches coming in to SYC from LMVSC are good. But they're only good if you're on their team. One hallmark of Este Maldonado-led LMVSC is that the club did not care about any teams other than the top (red) teams. Can't say for sure whether that was from Este or somewhere else, but they just didn't care. So hope for that offer to be on a blue team--but if your DC isn't already on an LMVSC red team, odds ain't great.

I'm sure.. surprised they didn't the press release treatment the other guys did. Let me guess, they all are also the top coaches in the nation.

They must have told LMVSC they were coming back if they had put them up. Seems like we're getting a great crew..

I thought Dotty had said coaches would no longer have 3 teams?

It looks like she got around that by pairing 2 coaches together for one team. At least that what it looks like to me.

I agree! But all the animosity seems to come from the Executive Director at LMVSC, SHE can't handle the fact that the previous Technical Director gave her a 2 weeks notice...

It is an obvious decision to want to bring the people you personally hired with you but why she's spitefully hiring those let go by SYC????

PP. I’m not feeling animosity from anyone. I also don’t think the hirings are out of spite. I don’t understand why syc let the coaches of their best teams go.

Perhaps because they weren’t the best. Perhaps good coaches but failed in other aspects such as communication and managing their time. Not sure what will make them better at LMVSC. I can’t imagin they couldn’t find any other coaches but the ones that left syc (fired or not). The ones that left LMVSC made sense since they were following este.

Makes sense to follow Este but not Lee? Also, SYC coaches are the ones leaving for everywhere. Yes, a couple ended up at LMVSC. And if they're so unwanted at SYC, why did they get offers and why are you upset they're leaving?

I was making an educated guess to the previous poster asking why syc coaches for the best teams were let go and/or left. I am not upset one way or another. I personally feel Syc got the better deal in that they hired Este to replace Lee then LMVSC turns around and hire Lee who for some reason or another was fired. Syc has the better optics. In the grand scheme of things it’s minor. Kids will play at both clubs and life goes on. Not trying to start a new debate on an old topic.

You're right, it looks like SYC will get the better deal. I'm looking at the Coaching Slate and it looks like SYC will have about 8 or so coaches from LMVSC!

Alexandria, BRYC, and somehow Gunston are the only real winners here...

Tbh both clubs look bad for this jumble. Don’t really know Este, but Lee is an alright coach at best. Very charismatic though, so people like him.
